To me there is 2 sides of Jeremy Lamb

The first side is the last season tournament/beginning of the his season Jeremy Lamb.At first he was Kembas clutch side kick that could also lockdown any wing in college. With Kemba leaving to the NBA Lamb started the season strong with a 30 point game and a monsterous dunk over a 7 footer ,that made him seem to be the obvious candidate for NCAA player of the year.He was considered a obvious top 5 pick and some had him as high as the first pick(even Aaron Smith) because of his potential to score effortlessly from any were on the court, whether it be a spot up 3, a pull mid range in your face,a smooth floater ,or even a dunk right over the tallest guy in the court. Not only could he score at a high rate but he also had the potential to be a lockdown defender because of his long arms, quickness, and wirery strength. Some said he was a SG version of Kevin Durant , so he oozed with potential.

Then there is a second side of Jeremy Lamb. The one that couldn’t lead a UCONN team that might have had more talent then the NCAA Connecticut team that won the championship last year but couldn’t take them anywhere .His smooth ,effortless way to score was started to be labeled as lazy , and a player with talent but no motor. His lockdown defensive potential has virtually faded and haven’t heard a word about it since his days with Kemba.Hus interviews didn’t help either ,being really unimpressive and unatractive to NBA teams ,looking as high as a kite and very uncarrying.Lambs stock fell even more and some mocks had dropping as far as to the 20s.

So we have seen 2 different sides to Jeremy Lamb (Well at least I have)and my question is what Jeremy Lamb will we see in the NBA?

Jeremy Lamb is a stud 2nd or 3rd option.  If the load is put on his shoulders it might be a little too heavy for him.  He needs another attacking guard on the floor with him to let him work with more space and less defensive attention.

Some people are natural born leaders and some are excellent role players.  I see Jeremy as one of those EXCELLENT role players that can get you 17 – 23 ppg at some point during his career, and play great defense.

I think he was labeled as lazy because the other guard on the floor the majority of the time, Shabazz Napier, who was trying to be something he is not (Kemba Walker), and that hindered Jeremy’s development.  Personally I wouldn’t want to play on the floor with a PG like Napier.

nobody knows how good he will be. Anthony morrow dropped 50 points in a summer league game. I am not comparing them, but the summer league doesnt mean that much. The play style is different from an nba game. Why does everyone keep speculating on players like Lamb. At least wait till he has played an NBA game that matters (regular season) to make any more prediction on players like him because everyday the is one about a different player and there have already been like 3 or 4 on Lamb since he was drafted.

Ok? This is has nothing to do with summer league that why I didn’t mention it at all ,and of course no one knows how good he will be ,no one knows how good any one will be, if thats the case then Durant wouldn’t have gone second.I’m just asking people’s opinion on what Jeremy Lamb we might see in the NBA.

You can’t bring up Anthony morrow in this conversation(even though your not comparing them)Anthony did not have as good a college career as lamb, nor could he pull up off the dribble as fast as him, he also didn’t play with all the ballhogs and headaches as him(Drummond,Napier, boatwright). Imo lamb is his own worst enemy as he has the tools to succeed at the NBA level its just his cool demeanor that causes him to coast. His attitude is a lot like Joe Johnson as he isn’t a vocal leader or an expressive player he just goes out and plays the game and it rubs people the wrong way

This is NOT a comparison in terms of style of play…but I think Lamb is the Guard version of Luol Deng. Deng is a great defender and I believe Lamb will be as well. How good? Who knows but his upside for it is great with his wingspan and quick feet.

Offensively, they both can’t be the number one guy on their teams but like KDThunder 35 said, I believe Lamb will be a guy that can score 16-21 in his career and be a great role player that possibly gets to a couple all-star games. I think he has trouble creating his own shot but when he plays next to a PG that knows what he’s doing, he can thrive! Hope the best for him!

Bad comparison, deng can’t create his own shot while lamb definitely can. Uconns offense is centered around ISO plays which is why kemba walker had an incredible season like he did, lamb averaged 17 points at 47% shooting at uconn last year. Did you see him in the summer league? He was a monster in ISO

Going to be tough to guard everynight. Maybe 17 a game in year one. Always been high on him. Washington should have taken him but Beal will be ok but Lamb is better to me.

Lamb will be fine because in the NBA he will not have to be the man. Lin will be the main go to guy.
