HobbyOGParticipantWhat do you guys know about him? He’s a 6’7 point guard from UTEP and I’ve read that he has done good in his workouts. I think the Lakers should take him in the second round. Intriguing prospect.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantIMO, not a PG.. Just a big player with solid handle.. Can do a little bit of everything but isnt great.. Wont last long in the NBA..

Real Talk Real TrophiesParticipantvery intriguing with size and playing point, but just don’t think he has the game to match

ILoveBismackBiyomboParticipantI know his name has a ‘Y’ in it that doesn’t belong. His name is a slap in the face to all "i"s that typically grace the middle of the name ‘Julian’.

JoeWolf1Not much of a scorer at all, but because of his size is a tremendous rebounder for a guard. I get why he is intriguing, but I don’t understand all the buzz. I didn’t have him in my mocks until the Lakers were rumored to have given him a promise. I don’t think he sticks in the leauge, but I guess when you are LA and have a bunch of 2nd round picks you can roll the dice with a guy like Stone in hope that he develops.

Johnny ChillNo J.
His profile says he cant shoot. A very very poorman’s Jason Kidd.

If you don’t think he’s a PG, you haven’t seen him play. He’s definitely a PG more than anything else. He can defend wings, but he’s not good enough offensively to play on the wing without the ball.
He is a poor shooter, and he doesn’t look to score very much, but he’s a nice defender, a good athlete, and he runs the offense well and takes care of the ball. At 6’7 and being a PG, a team will take a chance with him. Whether he sticks is up to whether the team that takes him is either patient with him and works him hard to develop his ability to score and shoot, or is willing to accept the fact that he will provide some of everything except shooting and scoring.

ilike.panochasParticipantI’ve noticed you seem pretty high on him more than anyone. The guy is not an NBA player to me, he looks the part, but his skills are way below NBA standards. The worst shooter in this draft amongst guards, and couldn’t average double digit scoring in a weak conference, not to mention he is a senior so his upside is little to nothing at all.

JNixonParticipantJust because he’s a Sr. doesn’t mean he has little to no upside. I like his game, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he doesn’t make a roster. As I’ve repeatedly said, it depends on the team that takes him and how they are willing to handle his shooting and aggressiveness deficiences, but a 6’7 PG who does all the things he can do will ALWAYS be worth a gamble.

Da1potParticipantIt’s inevitable he’ll get Shaun Livingston comparisons, the problem is, he’s not even as good as Livingston is NOW. But I think he is worth a gamble for a team with multiple second round picks like the Lakers.

JNixonParticipantHe’s not as good a passer as Livingston, but he takes care of the ball with the same effectiveness as Livingston does. I don’t know who I’d compare him too, probably that guy Jeryl Sasser from a long time ago. Difference is, Sasser was given a guaranteed contract as a 1st rounder, so his developmental leash was much shorter than Stone’s will be.

ilike.panochasParticipantHe’s not even near Sasser as a prospect. Sasser was very talented and an 18ppg scorer as a college PG, much more skilled and dynamic than Stone.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantKid is not a PG.. Its that simple.. He is a big guy who can handle the ball. He is a decent athlete with the chance to play a role in the NBA but not a PG.. He wont last unless he tries to be a SF…

letstalkhoop32ParticipantYou obviously dont know much about the game of basketball. Julyan stone is a solid NBA point guard. Sure he has his flaws (shooting) but that can always improve. He has the ability to guard 3 different positions, he rebounds better than any point guard I have ever seen and he has the ability to create for others. He has solid handles and is a great passer. Any team that needs a solid point guard would be stupid to pass him up!!

iguapops420ParticipantAs much as I hate to say it, JNixon is dead on. 8, bro, we both represent the WV, but man if you don’t think true pg when you watch this guy then you just aren’t truely watching"him" moreso the team or gam. Unselfish, gets the ball to where gys like it and are most effective. Good courtvision, knows how to control tempo. Not sure if i ike the Sasser comparison, but everything else is point on. I’d probably put him somewhere between Livingstons potential and what Livingston has ended up. Not as much flair, but definitely no slouch either. He’s been a bigtime sleeper of mine most of the year since I first saw him play. Though at the time I expected 56 or 58 to be much more reaistic for LA to acquire him. It could take a couple European years though for him to develop a spot up J at least before sticking in the L. Rough edges, but polished properly, could end up a steal in the second.
