No im not one of the obnoxious utah fans (im actually a kings fan) but how do we think Utah will fare next season. They added raja bell who is a reliable shooter from outside and plays great defense as well. They can move the up and coming CJ miles to the 3 position, start millsap at the 4 and jefferson as center. They have a solid bench as well with kirilenko he and cj miles are interchangeable) as well as gordon hayward and mehmet okur. For all intentsw and purposes they could choose to be really tall and have okur and jefferson in at the same time for LA (although its not like they are good defenders but at least they have the height) Ronnie price is a hustle guy and gets your team going and we all know about deron williams. They are honestly my sleeper in the west and i wouldnt be surprised to see them and LA in the western conference finals if utah can snag a 2 or 3 spot which i think they are very capable of doing

I think Utah will fare well but DONT play Jefferson at the 5.

I think Utah will struggle early in the season but when Okur comes back, they can go to thier best lineup IMO of Williams- Bell- AK47-Jefferson-Okur.

I mean I think you pretty much said it all…Jefferson and Bell is an improvement, I don’t care what anyone says. Jefferson and Millsap will be terrors down low on both sides of the ball (Jefferson averaged 1.3 blocks and Millsap finished 6th among PF’s in blocks, and both average 10 boards when healthy), and if AK starts (they were much better with him in the lineup last year), they would compensate for a bit of a height disadvantage down low, as he’s a solid 6-9. Assuming Bell starts at the 2 (a great defender to stabilize the lineup and contribute a couple threes), they will have an awesome bench of Okur, Miles, Hayward, with Price and Fesenko filling in admirably when needed. They have the perfect mix of imposing post players, shooters, potential-laden young talent, and of course, a superstar in Deron Williams. If they stay healthy I think they’re tied with Dallas as the biggest threat to the Lakers in the West.

The Jazz will be much tougher inside. Both Millsap and Jefferson will want to prove they’re better than Boozer who seems to play for his paycheck. Very coherent team which could go far in the playoffs

Al Jefferson is just as soft defensively as Boozer. Also Jefferson strength post offense isn’t even necessarily a great fit with Jerry Sloan’s principles. But at the value for which you got him you couldn’t pass him up.

take a step back. Jefferson is good but not as good as boozer especially in a pick and role. His defense is just as bad. Bell is coming Off a injury season and is another year older. They lose korvers shooting and Matthews as a defender and shooter. I don’t thunk the step back is big and might be a half a step but I don’t think they got better
