Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI’m surprised nobody else has talked about him recently. He’s averaging 14ppg, 3rpg and in his last 6 games he’s averaging 22ppg. He’s showing to be a valuable scorer. Utah is sure going to miss him.

paint intruderParticipantMatthews really steps it up, while Roy’s knee is hindering him. But I’m not sure if Utah’s really missing him since they have C.J. Miles who finally starts to become a reliable player.

delfamParticipantall he does is score though and he doesn’t shoot a great percentage from 3. On a great team I doubt he’s a starter, more like a 6th man, where I think he’d have a better role.

He shot two 3’s a game last season and shot 38%.. that’s not bad whatsoever

CodySLCParticipantHe’s a good player no doubt. But paint intruders right, we have C.J. Miles who is only 23 and will take over Raja some day. And Hayward who’s 20 will also be playing some 2. We signed Raja Bell for around 9 mill instead of Matthews for around 32mil. Also I dont think we would have had the cap room to trade for Al Jefferson if the Jazz would have resigned him.

sheltwon3ParticipantUtah may miss him some but I think they are doing well without him considering he got paid a lot of money they could not afford. Mathews has been playing outstanding. I know he was known for his defense in Utah so i wonder if he is doing both in Portland or had his D fell off with him scoring more. I am also sure that half of the teams in the NBA would find a way to start him now.

IndianaBasketballParticipantHe’s playing well for Portland, but definitely not worth 9 million.

sheltwon3ParticipantI think considering how much a lot of guys that are less than him or putting up less numbers without his defense are getting paid, his contract is fair.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantEspecially if you compare him to Mike Conley.

sheltwon3ParticipantConley actually has been playing well and some games, he appears to be the best players behind Gay. I guess that is not saying much because Grizz are losing but he has step his game up big time. I was more talking about Morrow, and Outlaw
Also I would rather Mathews at 9 million than Joe Johnson at 20 mil
