Turral2ParticipantIs not a shooting guard….Will Struggle in the nba…..

JNixonParticipantHe’s going to be a SF in the NBA. And I think he can develop into a good scorer in the NBA, he has a pure long range shooting stroke and can play mid-range. If he develops a better handle, we could be looking at a Danny Granger type….I don’t see him struggling much in the NBA, he has very few weaknesses and they all are extremely improvable..

Michael.S.ParticipantYeah I agree with Iggy and he is much more explosive than Granger too..

knicksfreakParticipantI think his range and defensive ability is a formula for some kind of success in the league. Scoring off the dribble may be his weakness but that can improve. This may shock some people but I compare him to a rich man’s Renaldo Balkman with a jumper. Before you kill me, I make this comparison because of the build and athletic ability as well as defensive prowess. He is a much better offensive player though. I see him as a legit NBA starter at least.

M-DYMESParticipantI think while next to John Wall has the smallest risk of being a bust in the NBA. Just his length is going to make him a factor at the defensive end at least. I see him as a player like Josh Howard but with a greater ceiling. I think he could start for many teams day 1.

the I in winParticipantdefine struggle, if you mean he will have to change his game then yes, most every player does. However if you mean he won’t score double figures on the daily then your dead wrong.

festar35ParticipantMy question is what if the Pacers draft him? Say Evan Turner is gone as is John Wall and they need a second scoring option that would be Johnson, i would see him at SG and Granger staying at the SF spot.

Turral2ParticipantEvery Great PLayer in the league can go get their own shot except some big men…and if you were watching the same wes i see… he has problems gettin his own shot.. any surefire star in the league can go get their own shot..

festar35ParticipantWho said he was a surefire star? Personally i see him as a great role player. He isn’t a Carmelo, LeBron or Kobe but he could be a Butler or a Hamilton, an above average NBA player who on the right team could get an All-Star appearance or two. He will not be the go-to guy on a winning team.

Turral2ParticipantSO we draft good role players with the number two pick? or players who can eventually become stars?

Disrespect_MeParticipantdidnt they say Michael Jordan couldnt dribble, couldnt shoot the 3 prolifically? blah blah

JNixonParticipantHe’s not necessarily going to be the #2 pick….Evan Turner could be. But Johnson would be perfect for a team like Minnesota that needs a perimeter shooter/scorer that can be a 2nd option…

NorthernLights666ParticipantThe Timberwolves need a 1st option, they have a 2nd option in Jefferson already, Turner would fit their needs better, they need a guy that can take over from the perimeter, they’ve never had anybody in their 20 year history that can do that.

Disrespect_MeParticipantit depends what team it is
Bobcats dont need a superstar bcuz they matchup so good on defense
76ers need superstar at point guard to fuel their fast breaking wings
each team is different0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/22/2010 - 9:53am #249625
MkadozaParticipantWes has no problem scoring, he’s just not the aggresive in creating his own shot. He doesn’t dominate or demand the ball, and gets his points very efficiently in the flow of the game. Has good shot selection, wonderful lift on his jumpshot, picture perfect form, and an underutilized post game. He’s a capable ball handler, but does have trouble making good passes and easy shots of the dribble, which is why, for the most part, he doesnt utilize this part of his game. He’s giot the physical profile to excel at the 2 guard position, he just needs to tighten up his handle so he can survey the court and make easy passes. But he’s got some of the best tools of any prospect. Wall, Turner, and Johnson have distinguished themselves as solid bets to be starters in the league. Few others have the profile.

quinceyhodgesthe thing is you dont know whos gonna become a star or role players so you draft on what you think the player will be. if you dont think johnson will be that good you dont draft him. if you think he will then you draft him. pretty simple
