UNCbasketballbumParticipantTen year anniversary of the famous Allen Iverson rant about practice. Don’t need to post the vid because I know you all have seen it hundreds of time. Still one of the funniest and goofiest things I have ever seen.

TallmanNYCParticipantIt was a crazy rant but I agreed with most of what he said there. You talking about practice when a guy has been in a league for fie six years and has been playing high level ball since he was about six. What was so crucial about that practice that he was late to? Did they cover some basketball skill that no one had every taught him and would never have chance to who to him again? Considering the relatively low intensity of some mid season games before the end of the fourth quarter, I’ve got a feeling a lot of practices are not much more than hangout shoot around sessions a lot times.

Krypt14ParticipantTallmanNYC,
Or even to go through offensive sets, film sessions breaking down the opposition plays, and maybe even just to display some basic level of respect to his team mates? Basketball is a team game and as awesome as Iverson was he was never going to win anything completely on his own. To me him not showing up for practice was completely disrespectful to the other guys on his team and teh coaching staff.
