DipoTimeParticipantWho ya got when it comes to NBA potential? As far as this season goes Selden will have a better opportunity to put up numbers but Young will most likely be more efficient since he will have more open looks. There is no guarantee either of these guys will declare this coming draft, more or less both of them. But whenever they declare, who has more potential? What kind of comparisons do they have?
Personally, I will take Young, but it is really close and I really like Selden a lot. Young seems to be the more polished, smarter player who has a really good looking shot and underrated athleticism. If Selden can become are more consistent and efficient player and put all his tools together he can be an absolute stud, I just need to see an improvement in those areas first.

PhogifyParticipantI think Selden is smarter, and more polished by far. No one has the build that he has in this class, he has the ability to run the offense as well. I think Young might have more potential, but I disagree and think right now Selden is much more polished than Young. Selden has maybe the best all-around game out of anyone in his class, he can score in any way you can think of, has already said he wants to be a defensive stopper at Kansas. Selden gets to the rim at will and has really developed his shot that can be used off the catch or off the bounce. His passing skills are unreal if you watch YouTube videos of him.

DipoTimeParticipantYouTube videos show highlights. Selden looks more like a flashy player doing unnecessary no look and behind the back passes. He also looks to settle for jumpers too much instead of constantly attacking with that insane strength and athleticism. Young is really underrated skill-wise and athletically I think people are really looking past that just bc he doesn’t explode and make flashy plays. I agree that he can score in multiple ways and I love that he wants to be a stopper on defense. But lets see it first before actually giving him credit for it. Tony Wroten had amazing highlights in high school for his playmaking ability and defensive potential, and we all know how he struggled with shooting and turning the ball over in college.

hoopscopParticipantLike both of them, think they are vastly underrated, Wayne will be more of a combo type, Young is the pure scorer. I think both will come out next year and be in the top 7.

mbramilanParticipantSelden is a terrific slasher, he’s a fantastic player, but I will take Young. His game is more complete than Selden’s.
