Wayne Selden Jr didn’t quite perform as well as many thought this season. As most of us expected he has announced he will be coming back. He shot a terrible 38% from the field and 36% from 3. Settling for way too many jump shots especially at his size. I feel like he was driving the ball to the rim more frequent towards the end of the season . He doesn’t finish well either for a player his size. I believe if he left after last season he would be a late second round pick. How do you guys feel about him?

It’s good that he came back. After two years it’s safe to say we know what he is and we know what he isn’t. He was a kid who had an college ready body in high school, same as both the Harrison twins (Andrew and Aaron). This 2013 class (high school) wasn’t very good in terms of guards, especially the big guards who were supposed to "bully" their opponent around.

Selden should stay as long as he needs and develop a 3 point shot. Once upon a time Danny Green (of the Spurs) was the #15 recruit and he had similar shooting woes his first couple of years and worked on his shot and although he didn’t tear it up in the college game his junior and senior year he did develop his skills to become a VERY valuable player with his 3 point shooting.

NBA bucks will come if you have a skill.

That’s a player i’ve been wondering/worried about also. Nearly 6’4 in shoes, 220 pounds, with a 6’9 wingspan, you can see from video he isn’t very athletic, one thing though is it looks like he has plus ball handling, the Harrison’s or Selden didn’t have that, seems like he can shoot but I don’t know. But i’m in agreeance with you, I have my eyes on  him.

Only a good shooter when it’s a spot up shot. Shooting on the move is way below average for an NBA guard. His defense will translate. You also have to assume that 2 straight early exits for KU have hurt his stock a little as well.

He is an NBA player, but I think it was smart for him to come back and in no way would I ever spend a lottery pick on him. Possible late 1st depending on next year’s play.

Reminds me a bit of Dahntay Jones but as mentioned before he needs to work on his shot.

I have Wayne Selden tabbed closer to DeShawn Stevenson. (view J.P. Tokoto closely for Dahntay Jones shadow.)

Great idea for Wayne to come back to Kansas for his Junior year.

He will likely have a breakout year as a junior or senior.  I don’t know if he will be drafted in the lottery, but he may end up a late lottery guy who can contribute right away if he continues to work on his game.

He is already a solid defender, it’s time for him to step up as a #1 option for the Jayhawks and average 18ppg as a junior.

More importantly if he never breaks out, we can say he is on pace to graduating and earning his degree.

Yes, this important to have a degree, finish school and get a job.

So many kids come out after one or two years in college – be a late second rounder or don’t even get drafted at all.  They end up playing d-league or maybe overseas. What happens financially if you are not that good or get injured ?  I would like to see more players stay in college…. You are the man on campus, lots of friends and good times.  Plus you get a degree…

As a Kansas fan I watched most of their games. When it comes to Selden, it almost seems like everytime he drives and finish’s at the rim he doesnt convert and I cant figure out right. He just hasnt been able to put it all together yet.
