sheltwon3ParticipantJohn Wall and Evan Turner have some impressive numbers. I am upset that they show the guys talking more than they show actual footage of players.

butidonthavemoneyHow about Craig Brackins destroying the vert? He got alllllll the way up.
Aldrich apparently measured in at 6’9″ no shoes, but 6’11” with shoes.
DeMarcus Cousins looked terrible in the athletic testing.
Paul George got injured.

sheltwon3Participantdang that is messed up for George because he was looking good at the camp. i did not get to see the injury and stuff though. Cousins looked alright. You may have been watching when he practiced. This dude is 280 and he looked he was putting forth effort but I think even though he looked toned 275 or 270 is better for him to showcase his explosiveness. I can bet that after his first NBA season he will lose of that weight or restructure his muscle mass to stay 290 lbs and be more explosive. Dwight Howard I think is only 280 lbs. Cousins does not need to be 290. I think even Shaq when he came in as a rookie was 280 lbs. Also Shaq was taller and more explosive though. Cousins at this stage is better in the post.

MrAnalystSome impressive and unimpressive measurements.
DeMarcus Cousins a half inch taller than Cole Aldrich. That suprised me. They will probably both be listed at 6’11 nonetheless.DeMarcus Cousins – 6’9.5 292
Cole Aldrich – 6’9 236
Derrick Favors – 6’8.75 245Cousins measured big. He has a half inch on Aldrich plus 56 pounds. Also has a 9’5 standing reach that is equal of Solomon Alabi.
Luke Babbit measured very small. 6’4.75. Wasn’t he listed at 6’7 or 6’8?
Dexter Pittman at only 303 lbs. was suprising too. About the same weight as Gallon but an inch taller. Monroe a legit 6’9.75.0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 8:34am #318956

butidonthavemoneyThey don’t play barefoot…

JNixonParticipantJon Scheyer has a 6’3 wingspan…….And he’s 6’6 in shoes. Gator arms

severinParticipantDeMarcus is huge. Babbitt will be alright. This draft has so many good centers and one great one in DeMarcus.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 8:54am #318965

JNixonParticipantBesides Scheyer though, there are alot of long armed guys in this draft.

EuroBallParticipantGator Arms…

MrAnalystNo shit they play in shoes but are you honestly going to give someone extra height because they wore shoes with a bigger heel? Damn man, if you scouts thought like you did, you don’t think every single guy would have bought the shoe Cole Aldrich had?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 9:08am #318969

severinParticipantDeMarcus Cousins is really long. So are bryan davis, deon thompson, Pittman, Sanders, Favors, Udoh, whiteside, Alabi, N’Diaye, Jordan, Foote, parakhouski and Varnado. at the guards bradley and armon johnson are very long.

sheltwon3Participantwhere is Gordon Hayward measurements. I dont see them
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 9:11am #318971
MrAnalystCousins has the same standing reach that Hasheem Thabeet had.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 9:22am #318976

sheltwon3ParticipantCousins is a Center for sure but Monroe who is taller short reach may hurt him as a Center for some teams.I though Orton would be taller but he is big enough and has reach enough to play Center. Aldrich has a good reach as well.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 9:22am #318977
B-ball fanParticipantHe is listed at 6’7.5″, not 6’4.5″ by draftexpress. Wall is 1 1/4 inches taller than Rose.

JNixonParticipantWho just saw Gordon Hayward get his shot stuff TWICE by Damion James in that drill?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 9:34am #318987
MrAnalystDraft express had him listed as 6’4.75, now it says 6’7.75. Haha before it would have lowered his stock, now it probably raises his stock. He was listed at 6’7 in college, but is really like 6’9.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 9:42am #318991

sheltwon3ParticipantRose has a better no step vertical but Wall is longer and taller.
0- Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 9:45am #318995
Lodzio20ParticipantHow do you know who has better no step vert?

0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 9:46am #318996

sheltwon3ParticipantFavors is almost comparable to Dwight Howard
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 9:50am #318998

MagikKnickParticipantGordon Hayward:
6’6.75″ w/o shoes
6’8″ with shoes
211 lbs
6’7.75″ wingspan
8’7″ reach
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 9:51am #318999

MagikKnickParticipantVerts and stuff haven’t come out yet, I think they do that tomorrow
So who do you guys think is gonna get the highest vert?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 9:53am #319003

mikeyvthedonParticipantYeah, I was going to say something about Babbit earlier, but I am glad I waited, lol. I knew he was at least 6’7 from watching him, if he had his listed height that far off, I would have been way surprised. I also saw James Anderson’s wingspan earlier was listed at 7’3 1/4, and I was like “Damn” but now I see it is a more reasonable 6’8. These measurements are always intriguing, and I find a good guage for players heights is take there weight without shoes, and than add about an inch to an inch and a quarter. I think this is the average gain and I just read it somewhere a couple years ago and it made sense. I mean, Spencer Hawes and Cole Aldrich will not always be playing in high heels :). I mean, Aldrich is I guess a legit 6’10 with shoes, and has a wing span almost as long as they said he had, but the dude gained like 2 inches. Reminds me of Hawes, he gained like 2 and a quarter and it made him taller than Greg Oden. So, unless they always wear high rise basketball shoes, I would go with about an inch and a bit. I remember 8thdeadlysin and his basketball is a game of inches post, so, these inches do matter.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 9:54am #319002

JNixonParticipantHe has a few similarities to Howard (mostly in his offensive skills down low). He’s not that explosive, tenacious or tall. And he’s got more of a mid-range game, even though it’s raw.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 11:36am #319056

morgatilParticipantBledsoe has an 8’2″ standing reach….. and he is 6’1″. Crazy arms.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/21/2010 - 12:41pm #319086

sheltwon3ParticipantIf you watch ESPN. 3 you can watch the draftcombine live or you can watch it now by going there i am watching the begining now. They said that Wall no step vert was 30 during the show. I checked Rose and his i think was 36. Russel Westbrook no step vert was 30 as well so people do better when they are moving.
