How good are Andray Blatche and Javale McGee going to be this year? What kind of stats are they going to put up. Blatche looked great at the end of last season but he isn’t going to get nearly as many shots as last season. McGee has looked great in summer league and he was asked to try out for the National team but he looked good in summer league last season as well. John Wall looks like he might be just about the best thing that could have happened to McGee watching them in summer league. I’m guessing Blatche puts up something like 17 points 7 rebounds and McGee puts up 12 points 7 rebounds 2.5 blocks.

funny, i was just thinking about posting a wizards in the playoffs thread. Add in guys like Krik Hinrich and Nick Young off the bench and things are looking up for them. If arenas gets his head on straight and allows wall to run the show then that whole incident last year might have been a huge blessing in disguise for the team.

The whole Gilbert Arenas incident was a blessing in disguise because if Gilbert never got suspended, we might have not traded away Butler and Jamison and we would still think we could win with that roster. That suspension caused them to go in the rebuilding direction, which the team needed to to because they weren’t winning with their veteran roster.

Also, if Gilbert never got suspended, they might have not done as bad as they did last season. They probably would have done better then going 26-56 and wouldn’t have gotten the #1 pick. And now Gilbert will even be more motivated to play better since his career is hanging by a thread. Because of this whole incident, this team is heading in the right direction and it was a true blessing in disguise.

I think the Wizards could certainly sneak into the playoffs and grab a late playoff spot.

I think the Wizards need to seriously consider re-signing Nick Young. Al Thornton is ok but really should be a role player. Yi doesn’t really have the quickness to play the 3 and Trevor Booker is a 4. Anyways the Wiz look very promising for the future. They have enough money next summer even with Arenas on the books to solve the SF problem with either a Jeff Green or bringing back Caron Butler. Also don’t sleep on Kevin Seraphin. He is huge and extremely athletic and nimble. Could be a great backup big. N’Diaye could also potentially be a role player. He’s raw on offense but can block shots.

I think this is going to be McGhee’s break out year. I kinda followed him after Haywood got traded and he had some monster games, but was plagued by inconsistancy. His Summer League performance ( I know it’s not a sure thing ) made me and about everyone else I think into thinking he’s headed in the right direction. I think he’ll be a big time shot blocker and his stats will resemble what he did last April, at about 13-14 ppg 8-9 rpg and 2.5 bpg per clip. I wouldn’t be shocked if the last couple months of the season if he were putting up close to 16 ppg and 10 rpg per game.

I always thought Washington was a playoff team. They’ve gone through injuries to Gilbert and Jamison. They should have been a 5-7 seed for the last 3 years.
