220ParticipantDoesn’t this cause an issue with the Warriors getting Dwight Howard? Does this mean they’ll given up on Dwight?

SiggyParticipantThey’ll look to pull off a sign and trade for Dwight. Possibly using David Lee or Bogut’s expiring.

TMoney617ParticipantI like this because they needed more experience but man I wanted to see Barnes get more minutes next year. This deal would be amazing for them if they end up flipping Barnes/Thompson and Bogut for Howard.

KreedOneParticipantThey’re also dropping out of the dwight howard race, I wouldve still tried to get a sign & trade deal for him if all they were giving up was Bogut and Barnes/Klay and maybe a 1st

So maybe their not out…who knows lol when it comes to Dwight

hubhubParticipantIf Thompson and Barnes are in the roster with Iguodala I dont like sending Barnes to the bench after great playoffs. If that means D12 coming in a sign and trade I am totally in. Curry, Thompson, Iguodala, Lee and Howard in one team means contending for me.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantNow if they can land Dwight, they’ll have a very nice line-up. Also, Andre Iguodala’s slashing ability paired with Klay/Stephen’s shooting ability will be very nice.
Even if they don’t get Dwight, does Iguadola start?

KreedOneParticipantAccording to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, multiple draft picks, including a 2014 first-round pick, were included as well. – for the Jefferson, Biedrins, and Brandon Rush trade to Utah
&
According to Ken Berger of CBS Sports, should Howard choose the Warriors, the team is still willing to engage in sign-and-trades with the Lakers.0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/05/2013 - 10:41am #814059

WITNESS2014ParticipantIs there a chance they signed Iggy so they could trade him and bogut/ jefferson? Maybe being able to add iggy the lakers would be more intrigued and take the other big contracts off their hands. It’s just a thought i guess i didnt want them to let barnes go. At the same time it is a center who can put them over the top. Lets see how this all plays out.

XYRYXParticipantwow! Now if this means Howard is on his way than that is really huge!!!
Not ideal to give Barnes away but if they can really land him he should be moved. To stick with Lee and Dwight is really expansive but they are clearing cap space now and Curry and Thompson demand their money too.
Don’t like this for the Lakers so much. Sure they at least get something for Dwight leaving. Should ask for picks also, but typically they never care about that and Bogut and Gasol is < to Lee and Gasol to me. But hey, the Lakers want to save money in the long run…

CavFanPRParticipantThe warriors just signed a role player who averaged 13 points a game and 57% free throw shooting to a 12 mil a year contract. that’s hilarious!!!!!! And now they want to add another free throw liability? just awful

Mr. 19134ParticipantHow many role players do u consider that are All Stars and Olh mpic gold medalists who r also in the conversation ever year for DPOY?…Ill wait.
You keep stating Iggys ppg and ft% withiut mentioning how many rpg and apg he gets while also ignoring his high win shares % and the fact that he’s lead the teams he’s played on nearly every year to the playoffs.
He’s a winner and a monster defender who impacts the game more then stats could ever tell. Peep his opponents fg% with him

aivsdirkParticipantgreat pickup for the warriors glad iggy signed with a contender. iggy can start with klay and curry and step into that extra facilitator role they used jack for last year. i think they use barnes use as a stretch 4 or 3 role and he will still gets minutes playing both positions coming off the bench. could be klay off the bench as well slide iggy to the starting 2, with jack leaving and rush traded who do they have as an extra guard? if you think about it landry and jack was the warriors main bench production. landry opted out of his contract , and i already stated seems jack is leaving. one of the young studs has to go to the bench.

aivsdirkParticipantalso young good teams chill with doing whatever to aquire guys based on name first and thinking about chemistry 2nd. we all know dwight didnt like his amount of touches in la, with kobe shooting, still there others constantly passing him the ball, gasol and nash which prolly helped out a little with his tension with kobe but imagine dwight’s frustration with curry, thompson, barnes and lee all shooting the ball with him on the floor. I personally prefer lee and bogut over whatever they would try to pair with dwight in the front court. bogut better passer for shooters and both need less room to get into their offense vs howard.

hubhubParticipantHoward is going to Houston so I think GSW could benefit more from signing Josh Smith. Iguodala is a great player but if they will but him in their s5 ( his atributtes, for me, dont fit to be a typycial 6th man ) either Klay or Harrison goes to the bench which in my own opinion is a bad move. Klay is terrific, Barnes shined in the playoffs. I cant find a reason to but one of them on the bench. For me, some moves are coming. Maybe Josh Smith will end up in GSW in a sign and trade for Barnes or Thompson???

HitsterParticipantIf the rumours are now true and Howard goes to Houston, GSW have still landed a great intangibles guy and if Bogut stays sound, they have a great core of Curry Thompson, Iggy, Barnes, Lee and Bogut. I will be interested to see how they fit Thompson, Iggy and Barnes into SG/SF roles but there are 96 minutes to share out so Mark Jakson has flexability.
$48 million over 4 years is a good price for Iggy, sure he ain’t a stats filler but he can create, is an elite defender and brings so much outside of stats to the team. He’s only getting $1 million a year more than Tyreke Evans, how many teams would want Evans over Iggy, not many I reckon.

AmiableBaller34ParticipantI love this signing, and it came out of nowhere. Iggy is an amazing uptempo player, but is also a great defender who can help guard some of the elite players on the perimeter. Another under looked aspect of acquiring Iggy is his ability to handle the ball. This will allow Curry to play off the ball a little more while still staying with a big lineup.
I also like how it keeps the Warrios active. They now have multiple assets that many teams would want, and possibly could package them for another great player. Good move, Warrior fans must be feeling nice
