OhCanada-ParticipantWas searching online to see how Tavares is doing and found a perfect update article.

Gran Canaria are fighting flayoffs in league play are 21-1 in cup play and Tavares is a big reason why.
There are also reports that he will be joining Atlanta next season and should be ready to contribute.

arambone2He could be the next Rudy Gobert. Not as nimble, but significantly stronger, with the same length.

HitsterParticipantI’d assume that the Hawks would look at him in the Summer League and if he looked okay in that then they would certainly want to have him over for pre-season, look at him in a few friendlies and see where he is NBAwise. He might not see a great deal of playing time immediately with a strong Hawks team but could get D-League experience and be brought along slowly.
When I read his name, I always think of the popular 1970’s soul group of the same name who were best known for "Heaven must be missing an Angel". For that reason alone I hope this guy succeeds as I can already see the highlights reel to his defensive plays being played over the song.

TheLastWordParticipantyou’d think the Hawks would want to get him over here asap.
He would be a lottery pick in a redraft just because of the similarites to Gobert.

omphalosParticipantThis is another guy I thought the Celtics should have taken a flier on with one of their million first-round picks, or even an early second-rounder.
I think he’ll definitely be able to find a place in the NBA.

arambone2The Celtics only had one pick in last year’s draft, and they got Marcus Smart.
Let’s just hope there are some intruiging bigs like Tavares and Nikola Jokic in this years second round.
So far I only see Upshaw, and he has a whole lot of red flags.
I actually wouldn’t mind trying to trade for Tavares or Jokic. Jokic is probably the safer bet because Tavares is so tall and not nearly as smooth a runner as Gobert. Most guys that height have short careers because of injuries.
But Jokic is 6’11, can shoot 3s, dribble, and is an excellent passer, and he looked very solid against Towns in the Nike Hoops Summit last summer. Like a younger Kaminsky with better strength.

arambone2How could I forget. We lost a coin toss with Denver I believe, so they got Nurkic and we got James Young.
