OldSkoolBasketballParticipantSays he is staying if Heat contends. So whoever said he is planning to sign an extension this summer your wrong.

Knicksboy34ParticipantLOL…guess he’s gone because the Heat are not contending
also, does this trade make sense? O’neal to NY for Curry and Hughes?

baller03Miami Heat should stink this year and hopefully get the number one pick. John Wall, Dwayne Wade, and Michael Beasley? ohhh maaan haha.

llperezI thought I remember hearing him say just a couple weeks ago that he would’nt mind signing an extension this year. Either way, I think he ends up staying. With O’neals salary coming of the books at the end of the year, they should be able to lure a top free agent into town. Beasley will be getting better.

adjose5ParticipantI watched all 7 games vs ATL and its clear he needs some serious help out there. If O’Neal was somewhat healthy for say 75 games, he could give them 17, 9 and 2.5 and I can see Beasley giving them 16 and 7 but other than that, their offense is limited and he has not other weapons. If they got Iverson, I could see them making it work in the backcourt

knicksfreakParticipantI like that trade alot. That would do the semi-impossible in trading Curry’s salary and make Miami a contender while giving NY cap space in 2010. Great trade for both teams. Riley supposedly likes Curry and has been wishing for a big man for years. Hughes will also help and he should play good in a contract season.

Stanford hoopsParticipantbut hughes and wade play the same position..dont say wade at the three ..that would be putting more pressure on him dealing with bigger players that will post him up..though i think hed do a good job that takes a toll on you when guys lean on you the whole game he wouldnt have the same explosion needed to finish a team off in the forth..and larry has proven he cant play the pg position
