Wade and Lebron call out Danny Granger
"We're not here to fight on the basketball court," Lebron said. Danny Granger has gotten in Lebron's face during the past three games. Lebron has called Granger's tactics "stupd." Are you here to play basketball or to be a tough guy?" Wade asks. I have to agree with Wade and Lebron. Just play basketball Danny. Let your game do the talking. The extra woofing and tough guy act won't intimidate Lebron and is unecessary. Just play ball Danny.
I got in so many arguments with Laker fans saying "Metta would kick Harden and Westbrooks ass blah blah blah" and my argument is if that's what you want to see then go watch some MMA at the bar down the street, this is a basketball game. At the same time I actually don't mind what Granger's doing because he's showing some passion that I've never seen from him. I much rather him go down swinging than pull Joe Johnson and look like he couldn't care if they win or lose.
This is good for Granger to do. Lebron is the best player on the planet. In the playoffs you're trying to get any advantage you can. Making Lebron uncomfortable on the court by getting in his face is better for the Pacers than letting him do anything with ease. To me this just explains the arrogance of the Heat. As if they deserve to be going to the championship and if anyone gives any resistance its a nuisance.
I don't think Granger is as tough as he acts, but I don't mind it. This is the playoffs. He is probably trying to get Lebron to blow his fuse and get a technical or get kicked out.... I would hope he knows that Lebron is definately not intimidated by him.
Knicks tried to do this with the Bulls for years, especially Pippin, who was considered "sensitive".
Danny Granger didn't start this, this was caused by Wade bowling over Collison and Danny stepping in was Justified
Here's the problem, he didn't know when to shut up and now it not only gave Wade and Lebron fuel but it's also made Danny the bad guy in all this...
At this point he needs to chin check Lebron in the 1st quarter while standing directly to D.Wade, Lebron would have to respond thus he and Granger are ejected and suspended for game 7, maybe Wade gets in a cheap shot and he gets the 1 game suspension too...At this point the Pacers have no chance in winning this series unless Granger actually shows us his balls and decks Wade or Lebron...
This hasn't even affected LeBron or Wade.. All this has done has gotten technicals called on Granger and made him look stupid.. How is that a good thing? He isn't taking anybody out of their comfort zone, he has just pissed off two of the top 5 players in the world.. Ya smart move
But when &$#%#&@! gets real, people wanna say it's just a game... Its cool to trash talk and play physical, but that tough guy act is super weak.. They are in the NBA playing in front of millions of people, he should save the tough guy act for the playgrounds..
Like I said on the last post.
Let your game speak.
Granger is averaging 13 PPG and shooting 35% from the field and trying to act tough on LeBron and Wade.
Granger can talk like a child, LeBron and Wade are going to put up numbers.
I get a kick out of the Heat... Mario Chalmers thinks he can smack the ball out of David West's hands after the play. Dwyane Wade thinks he can purposely just throw Collison to the floor just because he's mad he didn't get a call at the other end. LeBron thinks he can raise his elbow up at someone without them getting pissed (and I'm refering to the first time LeBron did this, not the second time).
And people sicken me thinking that teams have to walk on egg shells around the Heat.
"Danny Granger didn't start this, this was caused by Wade bowling over Collison and Danny stepping in was Justified"
Exactly, I rather see someone try to act tough like Granger then do what players like Wade and Bynum do to prove their toughness, ie. throwing players to the ground helplessly. Also, why does this even matter? Really, who cares if these guys are tough or not.
I hate how people have coined this term since the Lakers lost to the Celtics back in 07. The world deemed Gasol soft, and that led to the wholefake tough guys act. Who cares? Gasol is soft, he has two rings, KG is a fake tough guy, he still got his ring.
Granger obviously needs to start playing better. It's time to stop the talking and start putting the ball in the basket. Offensively, he's played passive whenever LeBron is defending him.
competition and how the old school NBA was, believe me when I say that. But you know whats different about MJ and all those other players when the game was more physical? They didn't just show it with their chests, they showed it on the court too. If Danny Granger had done all that and at the same time dropped 30 on the Heat, I'd be feeling like the trash talk is working...
But when the guy you are guarding doubles your points, triples your amount of rebounds and carries his team to a victory on your home court, I'm pretty sure the trash talking isn't working. Furthermore I believe someone said it best in another thread like this. Danny Granger is pouring oil on a dying fire. Don't give the Heat any reason catch fire at this point. Show it on the court, show the Heat Indianna basketball that you talk so much about.
LeBron James had the best performance of probably his playoff career last game, but the game before that he had like 4 points the entire second half.
Let's give Granger some credit. He's kept LeBron from going off 2/4 games this series.
I think tonight's game will say a lot about both teams. Whoever wins this game will win the series in my opinion.
I understand if you want to talk smack to people and get in their heads in order to psych yourself up and possibly hinder your opponents (mentally).. But when you come out and totally underperform in a good portion of the games thus far, I'd say it's time to stop trying to act tough and just play ball. Talking to you, Danny.
Overall Granger has played some pretty good D on Lebron in this series. The majority of his points have been scored in transition conpared to the half court game. He has forced Lebron to take contested 3s. He is 1 for 11 in the series from distance and you have to give Granger credit for that. Lebron is the best basketball player on the planet and is going to drop 25-30 in most playoff games regardless of the defense. Miami lives on momentum and up tempo play which is where their runs come from. Last point, if Lebron is mentioning Granger's tactics, he is obviously thinking about it.
He is a known pu$$y. He is not a tough guy. Hates to drive, rebound, defend and the post. That's what makes it good tough. They need some fire and he is on his last leg there, George can play the three and I thought they would trade Granger at the dead line. Guys like him, Gasol, Bynum, Ryan Hollins, Peirtris and Odom amoungst others have to go out of there way to show that they can be tough. That's the thing, just because your not tough doesnt mean u cant act or be tough at times. Lebron obliterates Granger anytime they are isolated. He has to do something, he only scores when Lebron is playing help defense and has to recover or somebody else is guarding him.
Granger may be soft, but the game as a whole has basically turned into figure skating when it comes to the permitance of physical play. In the 80's and 90's the things Granger is doing would be considered a regular act, because at that time there were all out brawls on the court, and players could push and shove without getting double technicals.
Lebron and Wade need to stop worrying about Granger because these comments show that Granger is getting to them and Indiana has won games without Granger playing great. So if Granger is strictly going to be used to rough up Lebron and Wade then so be it. You are both 2 of the 6-8 best players in the league and Indiana has nobody on your level yet they may beat you. If Danny Granger wants to punch you both in the face that isn't your problem. That is Indiana , Granger , and Stern's problem. Your problem is winning a title that the King of receding hairlines said you would win not 2 , not 3 , not 4 , not 5 , not 6 , not 7 titles and you might be about to go home in the second round and still have zero titles.
As much as I admire the talent of Wade and Lebron they both might be two of the most emotionally sensitive players I have ever seen. How about just don't give a f@#k and win and stop letting Danny Granger get in your heads because he has rattled them due to them both acknowleding him for what he has done in previous games. Kevin Durant wouldn't do this and that is why he will end up with more titles than Lebron.
Yeah.. Granger is getting to LeBron. It's not like he had a near triple-double in one of his best playoff performances of his career or anything....
Wade is a b!tch anyway I cant stand him he is dirty. Funny that Wade says that, cause he is always fronting like a tough guy too.
Wade went from being one of the most likeable players in the league to a d-bag seemingly over night. I can't stand him nowadays and used to be a huge fan. What a prick. He's a &$#%#&@! azz punk who just happens to have a great vertical. He puts that thug mug face on me when he dunks on me and that will be the last his face is flexin. Keep suckin LBJs cock cuz keeping him happy is the only way Wade got a shot at another title with the lack of effort he gives. He's the NBA's T.o. at this point imo.
LeBron and Wade are pansies fake tough guys, they can show boat and celebrate but when guys get in their face about their bull&$#%#&@! its a problem, &$#%#&@! that
I hate Wade and LeBron I think both are good players but will never cheer for them because they act like their entitled to everything they flop all over the court and get special treatment from the league
