Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWe all know these guys are great players. And if it wasn’t for Kobe, they would both be the best players at their position since their 2nd year in the league.
My question is..
Is LeBron the best small forward of all time? If not, where does he rank?
Is Dwyane Wade the 3rd best shooting guard of all time? If not, where do he rank?
If they win 2 rings together, LeBron (2 rings) & Wade (3 rings)
Would Bron be considered the best SF?
Wade the 3rd best SG?

Toronto16ParticipantIs LeBron the best small forward of all time? If not, where does he rank? Nah, Larry Bird is. But Lebron is a close 2nd.
Is Dwyane Wade the 3rd best shooting guard of all time? If not, where do he rank? Allen Iverson, George Gervin, and Jerry Wast over Wade for me
If they win 2 rings together, LeBron (2 rings) & Wade (3 rings)
Would Bron be considered the best SF? Nah, Larry Bird did it as the man on his team, Lebron will never get that. So Larry Bird to me will still be best SF
Wade the 3rd best SG? Tied with Allen Iverson

llperezlebron is the number 2 sf behind bird for me. I do thnik that if he wins 2 rings, he will pass bird. But if he doesnt win at least 2, he wade and bosh will all be criticized long term.
as for wade being the number 2 sg, its close. Iverson, drexler and west are the 3 guys that come to mind that might be ahead of him.

Michael.S.ParticipantMy question is..
Is LeBron the best small forward of all time? If not, where does he rank? He is the "best" but, no he will not be considered the best by critics and media until he has a few rings.
Is Dwyane Wade the 3rd best shooting guard of all time? If not, where do he rank? Jordan and Kobe are obviously ahead of him and then you have Iverson, with Wade an ear behind
If they win 2 rings together, LeBron (2 rings) & Wade (3 rings)
Would Bron be considered the best SF? Yep
Wade the 3rd best SG? Yup

Kinguy11ParticipantIs LeBron the best small forward of all time: Larry Bird is just a little bit better but Lebron James is a very close 2nd.
Is Dwyane Wade the 3rd best shooting guard of all time? If not, where do he rank? Allen Iverson, George Gervin, Jerry West, Michael Jordan, Reggie Miller and Kobe Bryant over Wade for me
If they win 2 rings together, LeBron (2 rings) & Wade (3 rings)
Would Bron be considered the best SF? Maybe, We’ll just have to see how the rest of his career plays out
Wade the 3rd best SG? Nah, Wade is in my mind 7th: 1st Michael Jordan 2nd Jerry West 3rd George Gervin 4th Reggie Miller 5th= Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson 7th Dwayne Wade.
How could everyone else forget about Michael Jordan and Reggie Miller! They played Shooting Guard too you know!

NickWayne87ParticipantUmmm LeBron IS the man on his team……even with wade…….even if he never wins a ring he’s ahead of larry bird to me in the best SF department (when his career is done)…..if i had to pick i’d rather build a team around Lebron.
I think Wade COULD’VE been looked at as the 3rd best SG at the end of his career but I don’t know with Lebron coming there……

KayjayParticipantThe guy plays so many different positions, its hard to classify him as one position. But since his starting position is small forward, I’m going to go ahead and say if Kobe will never reach that Jordan plateu, then neither should Lebron. Kobe will always be the second best, Lebron will also be the second best at his position.

jjonzParticipantBird brought so much to the game his era was what the League needed. His College & Pro Duals with Magic. Lakers VS Celtics. Clutch Shooting, Crazy Desire to win ,Great #. Great story line that lead to him leaving Ind/B.Knight & Going to Ind St. I mean growing up when i think NBA i can’t help but think Bird. He is Top 5. So what is it based on Lebron’s # or impact on the Game itself. Bird brought relevance back to Boston. I’ll take Bird as the Best Most revelant SF/ Just being Biased Pippen 2nd, Because to me Pippen redefined the position/or better yet took a Model (PPresseley 1st PointForward) and made it what it is today, where a SF gets the team set up in their offense and distributes the Ball.
So I’ll take heat for this but ohh well
Bird
Pippen
Lebron

llperezyeah pippen was never an mvp type. He had a great career, but he was a sidekick and not just becasue he played with MJ, he would have been a sidekick next to most of the top players in the game.

jjonzParticipant^^^^^ funny in Clevland they were chanting Scottie Pippen in reference to Bron being a side kick. The only reason i mentioned pip is because he could do it all & Lebron plays the same position. But until Lebron’s skills translate to rings he can’t be above Pip. Pip’s skills translated to the best # around 6-0. Regardless if he was a 2nd option or not.

Im Your FatherParticipantAdam Morrison’s skills translated to rings too, I think rings are something to be considered, but so are MVPs, and I think an award like that is far more important than rings in terms of comparing two players.

NickWayne87ParticipantLebron could retire tomorrow and be looked at as a better PLAYER than pip in my eyes…..maybe not the better career but definately the better play you can’t deny that, are you blind?

jjonzParticipantHe passes your eye test as great Regular Season Champ/MVP but fact is he has’nt done a thing when it mattered. Pippen the Greatest weakside defender of AllTime. Lebron’s in Miami as a side kick with better # that makes him better than Pippen

jjonzParticipanthe had an MVP season in 93-94 led bulls to 55 wins/ i remember the Allstar Game had the red nikes on he he went off in that game. Balled all year long 1st team all nba. lost Game 7 on a bogus call against the knicks. # from that year 23ppg/8rebs/5assts. Nowhere near Bron’s # but still he had a different impact on the game.

Im Your FatherParticipantI wouldn’t say he "hasn’t done a thing when it mattered," he has in general been great in the playoffs, and even has one of the best series of all time in 09.
Also, I really don’t think you’re right about Lebron being a side-kick, but I really doubt that I can convince you otherwise, so I’ll leave it at that.

llperezin 93 barkley was mvp. Hakeem was second and jordan was 3rd. The only season pippen was really in the mvp discussion was in 1994 when jordan was gone and the bulls were still one of the best teams in the league. Im not hating on pippen, but there are a few guys from the 90’s that i thought were better. It should also be noted that in that second round 6 game series vs the knicks in 94, it was kukoc who hit the big shot while pippen pouted on the sidelines.

jjonzParticipant^^^^ man i know my broNlaw talks about that whenever i mention Pippen. always, guess he can’t live that down, i just like the underdog nobody is rooting for me guy. Lowly scouted prospect from Central Arkansa grew up poor/beat up by Jordan & Chi media after his game 7 migraine collapse against Piston’s. Watched his whole Career i thought he was great after he matured. I guess it’s all preference I just want my SF/Wing player to be that lock down glue guy that can consistently get me between 15-21 ppg. BTW thanks for info, had it wrong i thought it was 93/94 season when Mike retired & Hakeem won Chip.

Mr. 19134Participant^^^^YES!!!…I Have a lot of respect for Reggie Miller in fact he even came to Sixers Training Camp this year under Doug Collins request and personally tutored Turner, Iggy, and Meeks about coming off of screens. And never remember your last shot. If you aint made a shot all game but you got a shot opportunity that you know you can make because you should always know you are going to make all you shots, then shoot it if your open or you know you got a good shot he told them it don’t matter what the score is because that doesn’t have anything to do with you about to shoot the basketball. That’s a great mental approach that he taught to the Sixers young wings.
But let’s be honest putting him ahead of Iverson is crazy. I have decided to start another thread based on Iverson being better then Kobe and the levels of greatness he was able to achieve that maybe 2-3 players every decade reach. Wade has never and will never do it like A.i. people forget just how ahead of his time he was and how he helped trail blaze his own lane in the game. There may never be a another play 6’1 and under as great as Allen Iverson was because he is one of the best regardless of size. Top 3 on my list.
By the time James career is over he will be better then Larry Bird. Not yet tho.
Kevin Durant could be the 3rd one but the time his career is over.

I get your point about Pippen I love Pippen too, thats why i was so excited when the Sixers drafted Iggy because to me he plays the closest thing to Pippen since he retired. The only difference was Pippen was bigger and could score better, and rebound better.
