steviechillzParticipantWhere do you guys see corey fisher goin in da draft? i think this guy has more potential than people think he has…To me he reminds me of a Kyle Lowry type player….I think some people forget that even though kemba walker had that game winning floater against Nova a few games back, Corey fisher clearly outplayed him in that game….fisher has that new york herky jerky dribble, toughness, outside shooting, and he is one of the biggest competitors ive seen in a nova uniform…i feel like he can fall anywhere between really late first to late second…..im just hoping he will be drafted and not get snubbed like my boy scottie reynolds was

Cardinal_FanParticipantI think Fisher would be a solid nba player, i dont know if he’s a first rounder but id take a flyer on him in the second, he reminds me of Derek Fisher a lil with his build and his ability to hit big shots, i dont know if he has that leadership Fisher brings but i think Fisher will have a solid nba career, i really think he can play on that level.

flyboyParticipantDoes he bring the overall athleticism/explosiveness necessary to make up for his lack of great size? I think he’s a good but not elite athlete, which could be a problem for him with his game. He’s got some nice strength/toughness so that will come in handy. He’s improved his PG skills this season and has improved his slashing game, being more under control and utilizing his mid-range game more effectively. I think he’s a nice prospect, brings things to the table on both offense and defense, I can see him #20-40 in the draft.

NJHooper95ParticipantFisher should be a high second round pick. He has amazing ball-handling skills which he can display more in the NBA since they play mostly man to man defense. He has a reliable jumper and though he doesnt have elite level athlectism, he does have the ability to create space between he and his defender. The NBA is more about creating space than athleticism. Nash and Parker are not elite-level athletes but they know how to create space. Not saying he is on their level, but he definitely can create space.

JNixonParticipantCorey Fisher isn’t a true PG, not the best shooter, and he plays too much of a power, below the rim game that’s not going to fly at his size in the NBA. He has good handles and quickness, and he’s a decent on-ball defender, but I just don’t like him as a great NBA prospect. He’s a late 2nd rounder to undrafted player IMO. I wouldn’t be shocked at all if he didn’t get picked.

Cardinal_FanParticipantAbsolutely love the Jameer Nelson comparison, I think Fisher has a stronger handle but as far as style of play its dead on because i think Fisher will be more of a jump shooter in the league due to his lack of explosiveness.

flyboyParticipantAnd that’s exactly what I meant by his game translating. He plays a physical, power brand of game on both sides, and with the new rules when it comes to contact, we’ll see if he can compensate by being a good enough shooter to soften up defenses, or by having the lateral quickness to defend quick slashing PGs. Can he finish consistently in the paint or over NBA defenders on his mid-range/pull-up jumpers is a question mark. With that said, he’s got good enough change of pace with his dribbling, craftiness and all around ballhandling skills to make up for these issues to a certain extent, and I think he’s a pretty good shooter and a good enough athlete where these things won’t be huge issues, if he’s a backup and not starting.

The thing is, he’s not 6’2 at all. He looks to be alot closer to 6’0. And Jamal Tinsley was an extraordinary playmaker for others, Fisher can shoot and was an efficient defender before the past 2 or 3 years, and Tony Parker is a much better scorer and playmaker than Fisher. Fisher plays too inefficient and isn’t enough of a PG to be a solid prospect IMO. He plays a game that doesn’t translate very well to me.
