andxxxParticipantShaka Smart is a great coach and I think alot of teams will look at him once their season is over. I love the adjustments and ability to motivate his team

ghettosermonParticipantThe heart of these VCU kids is insane. Seeing 5-9′ Joey Rodriguez battling the Morris twins for rebounds is amazing. You don’t have to be a fan of VCU but as a fan of basketball the effort out there is incredible. I feel like their helter skelter pace is contagious. It’s almost as if their opponents fall into trying to play their style. As someone who has no team left in the tourny got to root for VCU. These kids could care less that common sense says that they should have been blown out by every opponent they have faced so far.

doubledribblerParticipantI don’t know if VCU had a really good team this year or just caught fire at the right time, but they have looked great. Even the game against FSU was a complete slugfest, but was an excellent game to watch.

ghettosermonParticipantThe CAA constantly has good basketball teams. They manage to recruit real basketball players. With so many high major teams recruitment is based on size, athleticism, and "potential." These schools like VCU, Mason, ODU, Drexel, etc, manage to pick up these 6-7′ PF’s, 6-3′ SG’s who are highly skilled and fundamnetally sound, but high major’s won’t recruit because they aren’t ideal sized. What schools like VCU end up with is an entire roster of guys who are skilled and play together. A ton of players at high major schools are unskilled but are there because they are 6-10′ and chiseled.

The lake show2Its only horrible if VCU would have lost. Same as if you buy one stock that has a worst history then another but that stock you bought ends up making you alot of money. That stock didn’t have the better resume but it proved to be worthy of you picking it because it produced more than expected

delfamParticipantYou can’t look at it afterwards and say it was correct. If it was bad when it happened, it’s still bad afterwards even if it panned out. Just look at the resumes, VCU didn’t deserve in. Obviously they’ve played amazing and proved there good enough, that doesn’t change the fact that they shouldn’t of got in in the first place.

The lake show2Could would a should of but they got it. I felt the same way about Mich St. There were other teams with better resumes then them but they only got in because of there name and coach. I have no Problem with VCU making it now because they proved they belong. Anytime a team proves they belong i have no problem with them getting in
