TyroberParticipantPick 5 players from the list below, but you can not go over 80 million in salary.
*These are not the salaries of the players, but just a fun game to determine the value of the dollar because if you spend a little more money then you get a better product.
Would you rather have Mario Chalmers at 5million, Kyle Lowry at 10M, Nash at 15M, Deron Williams or CP3 at 20M?
Would you rather have Ray Allen at 5million, OJ Mayo at 10M, James Harden at 15M, Kobe Bryant or Dwade at 20 million?
Would you rather have MettaWorldPeace at 5million, Iggy at 10M, Granger at 15M, Durant or LeBron at 20M?
Would you rather have Al Harrington at 5Million, David Lee at 10M, Aldridge at 15M, Love at 20M or Dirk at 20M?
Would you rather have Brook Lopez at 10M, Tyson Chandler or Bynum at 15M, or Howard at 20M?

mikeyvthedonParticipantPG Mario Chalmers (5 million)
SG Dwyane Wade (20 million)
SF LeBron James (20 million)
PF LaMarcus Aldridge (15 million)
C Dwight Howard (20 million)
80 on the dot. The current Heat line-up (with LaMarcus Aldridge being a slightly younger, similar version of Chris Bosh) with Dwight Howard at Center? I am good with that.

Bird_YearsParticipantI like this game, can’t build a team that could beat mikey’s in a 7 game series though
I would gamble with: (tried not too take too many of the same)
CP3 (15)
Harden (15)
Iggy (10)
Love (20)
Dwight (20)

80 million.

IndianaBasketballParticipantPG: Mario Chalmers at 5M – He’s a big game player who defends, can shoot and make the necesary plays for himself and others. You get very good value here. He’s the new Derek Fisher.
SG James Harden at 15M – Harden is very young and could grow into a superstar. You get good value here at 15M. He’s a very good playmaker for himself and others.
SF Andre Iguodala at 10M – 10M for Iguodala is a steal!!! He’s no star and he won’t have to be on my team. I can use his point forward ability to help at point.
PF Lamarcus Aldridge at 15M – I’ll pay 15M to a damn near complete power forward at both ends
C Dwight Howard at 20M – He’s the most dominant big man in the game who’s still improving his offense. He’s worth every penny. The game is played best from the inside out to me.
Total = 65M
Savings = 15M

Moon RiverParticipantIs not paying the luxury tax. The Bulls have a spot for you in their organization.

FaceOfTheFranchiseParticipantPG: Nash- Floor General, Lights out shooter (15)
SG: Ray Allen-Shooter (5)
SF: LBJ-All-around talent (20)
PF: Dirk-Big man who can spread the D and take them in the post (20)
C: Howard-Defense, Rebounding, Putbacks (20)
HOF/Lights out backcourt
Best Frontcourt!?

B-ball fanParticipantThe Steve Nash/Dirk Nowitzki pick-and-pop in that line-up would rank as one of the scariest plays in NBA history, especially with Ray Allen in the corner and Dwight Howard stationed down low to prevent the help defense from coming.

CheesusParticipantI’d take
DWill at PG – 20 million
James Harden at SG – 15 millioon
Iggy at SF – 10 million
Love at PF – 20 million
Bynum at C – 15 million
total – 80 million

IndianaBasketballParticipantWhy spend 80M when you can spend 65M and still win a title?
Aldridge is arguably the best power forward in the NBA, yet he’s being paid like the third best. I feel like I’m saving 5M with him. I’m saving 5M with Iguodala when you see Granger getting paid 15M.
And I refuse to pay big money for a superstar point guard if I don’t have to. You don’t need one to win a title. The last superstar point guard to win a title was Isiah Thomas. Chalmers will do just fine and I have two wings who can help him with ball handling duties.
I feel my team would win the title. I’ll use that extra 15M to build up my bench probably.

lalailaParticipantfirstly i go with LeBron with out thinking twice that’s it i have best player on the planet..
with LeBron there i don’t need very great scoring sg and pg, so unselfish Nash and great great shooter Ray Ray to catch their passes..
i still have 40million but i use only 35 i pick Howard to be my alley oop man and defensive monster, so i have great rebounder i don’t need Love so much and i have LeBron as a star so Dirk as a 2nd scoring and 3rd overall option doesn’t sound well, LaMarcus would be much happier in that role plus he might be a better defender next to Dwight and better pick&roll partner for Nash..
C Howard
PF LA
SF LeBron
SG Ray Ray
PG Nash

Moon RiverParticipantI hope that $15M bench has a "go to" player, because I don’t see one in your starting 5!

druneave3ParticipantPG- Chalmers better on-ball defender than anyone mentioned
SG- Harden great 2nd/3rd scoring option, playmaker
SF- LeBron best player on the planet
PF- Love stretch 4, wont clog paint for LeBron/Howard
C- Howard rim protector

doubledribblerParticipantIf I’m doing this, I’m doing it like Prokorov. I have no respect for imaginary money, especially if I have this lineup…
PG: Williams. Paul is the better pg, but I don’t need Paul if Lebron is likely my primary ball handler. William plays that role fine and can even slide over to the two if I need him to.
SG: Allen: Nothing wrong with surrounding James with Shooters.
SF: James. Best player in the league and probably most versatile. No reason not to take him.
PF: Aldridge. Personally I don’t think there is much of a gap between him and Love when you look at overall game plus you get a bigger player. James, Aldridge, and Howard should pull down more than enough boards.
C: Howard. Scores 20 without having a play ran for him. Able to cover all kinds of ground on d. He’s never had anyone close to James or even Williams on the perimeter so he should be even more effective not trying to cover everyone elses mistakes.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI have no doubts that Lamarcus Aldridge can be my go-to player. When healthy, he’s arguably the best power forward in the league. He can get his own or he can play off of others.I’m trying to build a team without going with obvious players like LeBron, Durant, etc. Where’s your team?0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/22/2012 - 1:12pm #708512
aamir543ParticipantCp3 20 million
Ray Allen 5 million
Lebron 20 million
Love 20 million
Bynum 15
This team dominates because you have shooting, scoring, the perfect point, and a low post option as well.

TallmanNYCParticipantWow, you are all wrong. 🙂
It took some thinking. And I think in the original game you should have give us a $5 million center. But you didn’t. (Oh and isn’t it kind of sad that Lopez is getting paid as a $15 million center, but you didn’t give him his due?)
CP3 – $20M – Best in the game at his position.
Lebron – $20M – Best player in the league. Any team that doesn’t have him goes into the game with a disadvantage. There is only one ball and on my offensive sets the best player in the world will often be holding it.
Howard – $20M – Best defender in the game, high percentage scorer if you get him the ball in the righ position. See the two guys above, they will get him the ball in the right position.
Ray Allen – $5M – I’ve got to start saving money in this game. He shoots threes while left open because of the studs above.
Aldridge – $15M – Plays both ways, better defense than Love ( who I can’t afford anyway).
Good game. One quible. I’m not ever choosing Al Harrington unless his salary is negative $5 million. He has to pay me enough so I can do even more than have Harden on my team. I’d love to get Harden in as my shooting guard, but in this game that leaves me with Harrington. But if you gave me an option to spend $15M on Harden and then take a guy from the D-league. I’d consider that as an alternative to Allan and Aldridge. I wouldn’t take it. But, yes, I’d take a D-leaguer over Harrington. The reason is (among other reasons about why Harrington stinks) is that Harrington’s ability to score is useless when he becomes a third and especially fourth option. In this case he is the fourth option after CP3, Lebron and Howard. So his scoring ability is useless. He should basically never shoot the ball if he is on the court with Lebron, CP3 and Howard. Since he brings nothing special to the game beyond his abiltity to get off shots, he is useless for this team. A D- leaguer might at least show something unexpected.
