BajeebzParticipantI’m watching the game, and so far Exum has impressed me with his floor presence. Obviously, it’s very early in the game, but apparently I’m not the only one liking the action so far.
Ethan Strauss tweets: “Sold on Exum. That was quick.”

Dog_ShammdogParticipantHe did in fact check all the boxes tonight. He was lighting quick and is super lanky but has a substantial build and will get even more explosive as he fills out and gets stronger. Which is scary because he looked FAST. he also played one of the more mature games out of anybody out there. Including trey burke. Exum being proclaimed as a can’t miss was warranted.

ExumInfernoParticipantInteresting numbers, 0 fouls is tough for an international rookie to have, +9 in the +/- minus stat may not mean a lot but it was much better than the rest of his team.
Big Rudy had some fun, 9 rebounds, 4 of 5 from the field, but 3 of 9 on free throws, I think Utah have to decide and only keep one of Kanter and Gobert. I would keep taller Gobert.

pe3ucTopParticipantHis speed is just WOW! It’s unreal how he leaves his defender 2 meters behind with his right to left(refusing the screen) crossover move. I’ve seen him do it with the Harrison twin at Nike Hoop Summit and in several of his other international games, and he did it again today. His first step is sick both going left and right.
The statline is not the impressive part of the game today. You should really see the game or at least the highlights(will post below) to see why people are so excited about him. What he showed today is flashes of what could be an incredibly exciting career! Potential! If there ever was a case when one could use this otherwise massively overused cliché, this is it. He showed huge potential.
He has several areas in which he needs serious improvement – even before the season starts he needs to work seriously on his strength and conditioning – he seemed tired after 2-3 quarters, and he needs to put some(not a lot) bulk on, he’s way too slim. He should try improving on his handles, especially with the left hand, because it seemed a bit loose. And his shot! Damn, imagine how dangerous he can be with his speed, if he developed at least a respectable level on his mid- and long-range shot! He needs to work on his defensive consistency too. He has the lateral speed to keep up with pretty much anybody in the league, and in some stretches he shows it, but sometimes he just seems like he switches off.
That’s all fixable though. The best part is he has all the things that one cannot teach – he has great vision and composure, his passing is really good, he seems to have great feel for the game and the tempo of the game, he is unselfish. He makes great decisions on the court! His basketball IQ is very high for a guy who just turned 19 and hasn’t played a competitive game in 7-8 months time. And not to be underestimated – the reports from teams that have made their psych tests, say he tested off the charts for leadership, determination and high character! If he indeed has the drive to work on his weaknesses and improve on the few things he’s lacking, I think he’d have a bright future in the league.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI missed some of the game, but I really liked his understanding of just how to play basketball and make the right basketball plays with or without the ball in his hands. He seems to understand where to be and even where his teammates should be at times. I’ve read some debates as to what position he actually is. He looks like a point guard to me.
I really liked his poise and on court demeanor. He’s going to be one of those unselfish team first guys. Obviously the dude’s speed/quickness is elite… Both feet and hands. And unlike a John Wall, he understands how to changed pace/speeds.
He definitely has huge upside/potential.
