Except that Babbitt’s a much better shooter and a much better athlete than Hayward….

Maybe a big to back up Mehmet & Milisap..
Cole Aldrich? A Big who can play some D & I’m sure he’d flourish playing alot side D-Will. It’s not like he’s a horrible offensive player.
but then again, I believe AK47 is in his last year so maybe they’ll use Hayward as a replacement.

I think Utah should’ve gone big, but Hayward will be a very good player for the Jazz. It has nothing to do with his color. Sloan is going to love him and Jazz fans will too. Just watch. He can play, he’s smart and he’s tough.

Exactly What are they thinking. I thought for sure it would be Ed Davis, but I guess Utah thinks they already have the backup to Millsap. I believe that back up will be AK. Hayward will be the starting 3, I think. He will not start from day 1 but once Sloan sees his work ethic and his winning demeanor, he will insert him into the lineup. He is a great shooter, a good defender, the only thing that concerns is the hype surrounding him. There is so much. The only reason why he is a lottery pick is because of his play in the tourney.
Potential 2010-2011 lineup (after about 2 or 3 months
    PG D will/Price
    SG Matthews/MIles
    SF Hayward/Korver
    PF Millsap/AK
    C Okur/Fez

Hardworking, puts up great things that aren’t on the stat sheet, good shooter, good length, and you never have to worry about him getting into trouble.

Hopefully we move up and get a big late 1st or early 2nd. Thank god we didnt take davis. But Hayward is going to be a good pick. And he isn’t crazy like synder, or doesnt play d like Almound. We will see but I am liking it.

What do you mean childish? This is my favorite team, so naturally I try and be behind every player we pick, even if I am not to happy about it. Maybe you are speaking to the person who stated his reason for us picking Hayward because of his skin color. Horrible thinking if you ask me. Teams do not pick players because of their skin color. I hate the rap that is on kids who are white. They can play too. No team drafts a player just because of their skin color.

The jazz are an organization that take character more seriously than any other team. You know why? cause when we go after talent before character we always loose. Look at synder, he is locked up. We take good guys. Ala ronnie brewer, maynor, williams and now heyward. And you know what?? before he was traded brewer was a fan fav. Just like heyward is going to be. Also. Brewer was a fan fav.and black. so…. idk what to say to you people saying we only draft white guys cause we dont. and we love all our players as we are some of the most loyal fans. Give Heyward his chance. He will please sloan and play.

I commit the jazz decision but i have a lot of question. If they want hayward why they do trade down because some team in middle want aldric and they can trade for that. It will be make some profit more than get him at top ten.

Hayward is not worth #9, man… I can see a lot of better players the Jazz could have taken for… They could have gone big but Hayward at 9 sounds crap… He’s good but he’s not worth top 10…

Were drafted in the top seven, so nobody they would have taken would have impressed me more then anyone else. They must see something in this kid I don’t. I thought he was a very good college player, but I think he’s very limited as a pro. This probably means they don’t resign Korver, unless they play AK more at the 5, and Miles some at the 2, to open up playing time for Gordon.

can never play the 5, he will get alot of minutes at the 4 if the Jazz don’t resign boozer, but will never get any time playing the 5!

    I wanted Aldrich.

I would have also taken Patterson or Davis over Hayward.

But Hayward was the right way to go if we needed a wing. Babbitt was very average off the ball, and Henry showed that when forced to play in a system he can be OK but not to his full potential. Hayward excels in system play. He can come off of screens and curls. He is a great rebounder, passer and a solid defender. He can spot-up. Solid runner, athlete.

Overall, the best choice for the Jazz out of all the wing players available.
