QUINCEY HODGES1I guess once you start liking a Pac-10 team you start to root for other Pac-10 teams when you watch them play, because i find myself wanting each Pac-10 team to win when they play. Never cared before this year. Conflicted this game though Since Shelby is a Fellow area player

Lotto StudParticipantSelby looks really good on the defensive end. He shows from an early start that he is very disciplined by denying his the man the ball on off the ball D and on ball D.

Stanford over Butler 2dayHe’s a point guard who can play the SG ala Steve Francis. College’s usually put great scoring Point guards at the shooting to get the best out of there strengths.

Stanford over Butler 2dayNo because He’s spent more time as a good point guard then he has as a scoring one. Shelby wasn’t always a score first Point guard. He used to be a pretty good passer ala Francis. started out as more of a passer then realized that he could score alot. Same with Sam Cassell, Actually the same with all the good Point guards from the Maryland area. You won’t see his true point guard skills until he gets to the NBA ( like Russell Westbrook as well except Shelby has played point guard alot). Im basing this more off of his career since his soph year and not a half of a college game and a AllAmerican game

jaysmith1987ParticipantSelby reminds me of Jayson Williams that’s just of first impressions. Its nice to see a high profile recruit perform to expectations. He hit the go head basket for kansas and you knew he was ready. Not many players regardless of class come off a nine game suppensiom and are immediatly ready to play and hit game winning basket. If Kyrie Irving stays out for rest of the season you can make the case Selby is first guard taken look for his stock to rise to top 5 maybe even top 3.

Stanford over Butler 2dayI like Shelby but i wouldn’t make a case for him to be the first guard taken just yet. Lets remember its only one game with many more to come. He could stay on fire or he could go down hill from here. We tend to get ahead of ourselves on here after a game or two.

HaleParticipantI love the two clutch 3’s he hit down the stretch. Hopefully he can continue to produce. Also it surprised me how good of a shooter he was, even though it was only one game, he has a nice 3 ball.

delfamParticipantYou look at the Lakers and Celtics, they are the 2 premier teams in the NBA and there PG’s are both pure PG’s. All those PG’s you list have no championships. I think that’s the problem with the NBA today is there are very limited true PG’s, all these hybrids are bad for the NBA.
