IndianaBasketballParticipantUSA wins 99-77. USA didn’t play their best, but despite a few runs from Slovenia, they never really had a chance.
Durant had an amazing overall game. Rose was solid. Gay caught fire late and Westbrook was in attack mode the entire game.
The player I want to talk about though is… Kevin Love! Talk about a great rebounder. There was one play where he got a rebound and an and one while literally only using one arm lol. He had 10 points and 11 rebounds in about 10-12 minutes. He also had a nice dunk over someone. I think it’s safe to say that he’s passed Tyson Chandler in the rotation, who missed two easy lobs today and just looked sloppy.
I think the rotation is set though. It’ll be a nine man rotation.
Rose
Billups
Iguodala
Durant
Odom
—
Westbrook
Gordon
Gay
Love
—
Chandler
Curry

goneParticipantI always thought Chandler was foul prone in the NBA so I knew he was gonna be a mess in FIBA

IndianaBasketballParticipantOther than solid defense and two late three’s, Gordon didn’t play well. He turned the ball over four times and shot 2-7 3-PT (2-9 FG).
IF Gordon wants to reach his potential as a ball player, he has to work on his ball handling and playmaking skills. He has to get better using the pick and roll, etc.
USA’s body language/facial expressions was pretty bad today when things didn’t go their way. They’ll need to work on that.
Dragic was in foul trouble for Slovenia, but he didn’t play well. His right hand is weaker than Odom’s.
Nachbar was solid, but the player I was most impressed with was Gasper Vidmar. He has nice size/length and showed decent athleticism/toughness.

PlatypusParticipantTyson will be used a lot against Brazil since they have Splitter and Vareajo
problem this game was just turnovers… 2nd quarter was just brutal

knicksfan7ParticipantI only caught the 2nd half, but I am going to watch the first half later. Here is my recap. Kevin Love needs to be seeing more minutes if he got to play 20-22 minutes he would be on pace for a 20/20 game. Guy gets a double-double or close to it in 10-12 minutes, talk about production. Kevin Durant, played great nothing more needed to say. Derrick Rose has really improved his perimeter shooting, one thing you can tell is that he is very confident taking those shots. I am very excited about this, and hope it carries over to the regular season b/c if it does this guy is an even scarier player than he already is. The team defensively really struggled IMO. They fouled way too much, 28 PF. If Slovenia was shooting the ball better this game would have been a lot closer. This teams needs to cut down on the bad fouls if they do that they will be alright. Otherwise, I am very pleased with the way the team is playing, and believe they will only get better. Tomorrow is a real test.

stanford hoopsKevin love continues to prove me right. I love this kids game. He will either lead the leauge in rebounding this year or be top 3.
Team USA is better then I thought they would be. Rose,Westbrook are just unguardable. And Westbrook has that “I’m the man and can’t be stopped” it factor as well as the “imma shut you down” factor

knicksfan7ParticipantKevin Love is no different than David Lee in terms of stats. I think Love is a better rebounder and has more range than Lee, but Lee is a better athlete and can score a little better.
Kevin Love needs to be getting 20+ minutes as the tournament goes on, he is playing better than Chandler and Odom IMO. Odom is doing well though.

marcusfizer21ParticipantChandler sucks! He has low IQ… Kudos to Kevin Love… We should give him more love now…
