BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantIt is going to be a tough go for the US team. They are going to be young and likely to be heavily reliant on Kevin Durant. It will be a great opportunity for him to really emerge both nationally and internationally.
—————–
Confirmed to be on the court in Las Vegas are Chauncey Billups (Denver Nuggets); Chandler; Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors); Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder); Tyreke Evans (Sacramento Kings); Rudy Gay (Memphis Grizzlies); Eric Gordon (Los Angeles Clippers); Danny Granger (Indiana Pacers); Jeff Green (Oklahoma City Thunder); Andre Iguodala (Philadelphia 76ers); David Lee (Golden State Warriors); Brook Lopez (New Jersey Nets); Robin Lopez; Kevin Love (Minnesota Timberwolves); O.J. Mayo (Memphis Grizzlies); Lamar Odom (Los Angeles Lakers); Rondo; Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls); Amare Stoudemire (New York Knicks); Gerald Wallace (Charlotte Bobcats); and Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder).
—————–I think the roster in Turkey is likely to be long and athletic. I think it will look like this:
PG: Chauncey Billups, Derrick Rose, Stephen Curry
SG: Andre Iguodala, Eric Gordon
SF: Kevin Durant, Danny Granger
PF: Lamar Odom, Gerald Wallace
C: Amar’e Stoudemire, Brook Lopez, Tyson ChandlerThey probably want to guard against being too young by having Billups, Chandler, Odom, and Amare. Those guys have played with the adult national team before. Most of the guys were on the junior level teams, but they probably will want some veteran leadership. They’ll also want a shooter to zone bust, which should guarantee either Gordon or Curry a spot. It would not surprise me if they take both. I think Rondo and Evans are better players, but it isn’t a secret to how teams hope to beat the US. Zone up, don’t let them get second shots for them on offense, don’t let them get out in transition, and hope they can’t hit from the perimeter. Billups, Curry, Gordon, Durant and to a lesser degree Granger and Odom are the guys who can beat the zones.

deezhood87Participanti hope they dont put iguodala, odom, wallace on that team there games r not suited 4 international ball…..i like amare, lee n lopez as bigs…billups, mayo, durant, curry, gordon, granger it really dont matter which one of those gaurds join cuhz they all have pretty good shooting strokes….there gonna have to make a decision between rose, westbrook, rondo, evans n gay cuhz there not consistent knoock down shooters like tha other guys but they bring an explosive element to tha game so 1 or 2 of those guys has to b put on tha team….then after that u gotta bring in a defender n versatile player that when jeff green n maybe either wallace. a.i, or odom can come in play cuhz they can both play up front…but i feel they gotta choose between one of tha 3…..i’d perfer wallace cuhz he plays so hard n brings alot of energy….

jeff416ParticipantI think this lineup would be ok, it wouldn’t be as good as last time but it should be able to compete for a gold medal.
PG- Derrick Rose/Chauncey Billups/Stephen Curry
SG- Tyreke Evans/ OJ Mayo
SF- Kevin Durant/Rudy Gay/Andre Igoudala
PF- David Lee/ Lamar Odom
C- Amare Stoudemire/Brook Lopez0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/15/2010 - 10:12am #354823
lolyouthParticipantHe’s not even on the 22 man roster. I know that the main stars from 2008 ain’t playin but Tyson Chandler is never gonna play for the USA basketball team, I guarantee it.
Also, Brook Lopez not Robin Lopez is being considered for the team. Rondo will definitely make the team. They need a great young passer. I think Billups can make the team with his veteran leadership but their is a good influx of great point guards, Tyreke and Stephen Curry will probably be asked to play SG, which they are well capable of.
But, Tyson Chandler? Please, he only played straight when he had Chris Paul throwin him 5 alley oops a game. He’s injured, and even at his best he will never wear a USA uniform, sorry.

PureshooterParticipantI think that’s an interesting lineup. All the players are good to very good, but not necessarily superstars. Honestly, they should be the favorite to win, but if they finished 3rd I wouldn’t be stunned.

JNixonParticipantI hope Iguodala gets on. He is a better compliment than Rudy Gay to Kevin Durant, since he’ll probably just be asked to do all the same things Tayshaun Prince was asked to do: defend, make open shots, and create for others. Always good to have a perimeter defender and jack-of-all-trades on the back end of your international roster.

PG-Westbrook/Rondo/Rose= will compete for the last pg spot on the real team
SG-Durant/Evans/Curry
SF-Gay/Granger/Iggy
PF-Love/Lee
C-B.Lopez/AmareMy last Spot is either to Mayo or J. Green they are really high on these two just like they are on Rondo/Evans/and Curry
Last time They said westbrook out played rose and Durant and Gay went at it
all together its a deep list with prob. only 4 people making the real team.
