So far, it seems as if the players that are within the lottery are almost a lock. I understand that it’s basically a big board type of situation when it comes to placement but one thing stands out the most to me, and that’s Michael Porter Jr. being slated to Boston, which I totally disagree with. If Boston is selecting any player at the position it should be Mohamed Bamba, especially since there have been rumors swirling of entertaining the thought of acquiring Anthony Davis.

Aside from what I’ve expressed above, everything looks good with me besides Phoenix, taking another wing.

I think that Boston and Porter are a good fit because of the potential of an Irving-Brown-Tatum-Porter lineup. That lineup could score from anywhere and play solid defense. Add another star-caliber center to that (maybe even Al Horford), and you could easily see a dynasty five years down the road. I don’t think you’re wrong about Bamba though. Bamba would also fit well in Boston, either in an AD pursuit or just a potentially special center of the future.

I agree with your point about Phoenix. They don’t need Miles Bridges because they already have a jam with Booker, Jackson, Warren, Chriss, and Bender. If I were Phoenix, I’d either trade up to get Sexton or Young, or trade back and get Duval. They do have a big hole at PG.

I also disagree with Wendell Carter to Utah. He’s a pretty similar player to Favors, except better offensively and worse defensively. The point is, both clog the paint. That hasn’t worked well with Gobert, and isn’t likely too. I’d rather see them take Jaren Jackson, Miles Bridges, Kevin Knox, or shoot for upside with Hamidou Diallo. Or perhaps a two-way wing like Mikal Bridges.

Also, while the fit may not be good with some draft picks, taking the best player available is usually not a bad strategy unless you take centers for three years in a row (shoutout Noel-Okafor-Embiid). These players drafted who don’t fit can usually also be used as trade assets in a quest to land a star.

You failed to mention Gordon Hayward in the midst of that lineup, which is more enough reason to pass up on Porter Jr. for Bamba.

I did forget Hayward, but drafting Porter could mean trading one of Porter/Brown/Tatum for AD tho.

I agree Bamba would be Boston’s target, followed by Ayton. I sense Ainge would manufacture a trade to get one of these guys, irrespective of what happens. If Philly get the pick they need a shooter but I can’t see them taking Simmons off the ball  for Trae Young, especially with Fultz still around. They’d have to be targeting Doncic or Porter. Probably Porter with their track record of drafting injured players.
Phoenix 100% take Young or Sexton depending on where they fall. The other lottery “contenders” will be going for BPA I imagine.

I’m pretty sure they don’t factor team needs in to these mocks until much later in the season or actually until the season is pretty much over…

mock draft is always best players – not team need.

would be nice for luka to go to Memphis with Gasol and Conley

Mocks this far out are based on BPA, we did discuss about Boston taking Porter after last year’s draft before Irving trade when Bagley had talked about reclassifying and the thought that Boston could have two picks in 2018 draft top tier.

Doncic fits well on a number of teams and Memphis is an interesting one. He’d be another good ball handler alongside Conley but would not have to be the main creative guy and could give the coaches a few nice options. Plus if Marc Gasol was still there having an experienced skilled big would benefit Luka too.
