I had to give you a point just for having the Balls to put Love on the West team...Alot of people underestimate him as a player..
word. thanks bruh...
he deserves it, he's playing damn good
PG-CP3, DWill, Westbrook
SG- Kobe, Monta
SF- Melo, KD
PF - Dirk, Blake , Odom (yes, hes been a beast)
C - Pau, Love
PG: Rose, Rondo , Wall
SF: LBJ, Granger , Pierce
PF: Stat, Bosh, J.Smith
C: Howard, Hibbert (hes been a beast under the radar)
With the way how to San Antonio Spurs are playing, I think that either Manu Ginobli, Tony Parker or even Richard Jefferson have to make a the all star bench for the West.
no love for Eric Gordon on the just missed list? He's been better than Tyreke and Brandon Roy this year. He's seventh in the league in scoring to go with five assists a game...He averages more points, shoots a better percentage, averages more assists(Tyreke actually has EJ by .5 assists),and has a better PER than both of these guys(Tyreke has a PER in the 14's which about below average and Roy is a lil over 18.EJ is at 21 and change)
EJ shouldnt make the all star team cuz The Clips just arent very good right now,but he should be mentioned as a guy who is playing like an all star
yao ive said it before on here will be voted the starting center and i also hope k love makes it hes been an absolute beast this year
So many players putting up good numbers... that people are going to be left out.
In the West Monta Ellis is playing awesome and warriors are playing good ball...
In the east Josh Smith is doing everything for the hawks. I think is allaround numbers have to be some of the best in the league.
As of now those would be my 2 snubs based on the posters list
But, I really like him as a player, but i think Crash will get snubbed this year, unless someone gets hurt and the coaches vote him in.
I think a player like Josh Smith, Joe Johnson, or KG will get it over him.
honestly if drako keeps up what he has done the past two weeks he might make it. Also i think jefferson has to make it with the way he's playing for the #1 team in the west record wise. i also think if the pistons make any type of tuen around Stuckey deserves to be put on the team he has been playing exceptional this year
I read that insider too, and I'm not quite sold on Darko as an All-Star level center yet. I do think he has solidified himself as a legit starting center and elite shot blocker, and I think Love or Beasley would be the favorite for an all-star bid for the T-Wolves (meaning Darko is playing like the 3rd best player on his team). I know there isn't a limit on players for a team, but I'd be shocked if the 4-13 T-Wolves got more than one player in the All-Star Game.
Why Blake Griffin over Paul Millsap? Similar numbers except Paul's team is winning and Blakes team is the worst in the NBA. Those two should be switched
F- Blake Griffin- 3-15
F/C-Kevin Love- 4-13
NOT EVEN CLOSE TO ALL-STARS!!!
The 14-2 San Antonio Spurs have ZERO -REPEAT ZERO!!!- all-stars in your eyes. Sure, it isn't like the actual outcome of games should be used in assessing the best players in the league.
Just disgusting garbage.
Exactly . I dont agree either should be allstars either over Paul Millsap or Lamarcus Aldridge since both teams are winning
Millsap -18ppg 9reb
Close numbers untill you look at the win/loss department.
I agree too, that is why I seriously doubt a guy like Gerald Wallace will beat out Joe Johnson, Josh Smith or KG, maybe even Boozer who is slated to come back this week.
I agree with blackflash, with the way the Spurs are playing this year I think someone from them needs to make the all star game, preferably Parker or Ginobli. I know the West has some great guards, but Parker has looked unstoppable the Spurs games I've watched. He can get to the basket anytime he wants, and is making a lot role players look real good on that team by getting them opening shots.
I think the all star team should be based on stats, not how your team is doing or popularity. Is it always the players fault that his team is bad? Someone has to lose. So here are the players that I think deserve to be on the all star team as of right now. (not in any kind of order)
G- Rose, Wade, Wall, Rondo
F- James, Stoudemire, Granger, Horford, Smith
C- Howard, Noah, Hibbert
Maybes- Felton, Deng, Wallace, Jennings, Harris
G- Williams, Paul, Ellis, Bryant, Westbrook
F- Durant, Nowitzki, Love, Anthony, Griffin
C- Gasol, Scola
Maybes- Gordon, Nash, Gay, Ginobili, Millsap
"I think the all star team should be based on stats, not how your team is doing or popularity. Is it always the players fault that his team is bad? Someone has to lose."
When a player is 40-118 over his career (Love) with no sign of that winning percentage improving anytime soon, I think it shows that no matter what the numbers are that the opponent's numbers are even more impressive. Though if you choose, feel free to show me the list of all-stars who have been on teams that lose three out of four games for three years running with them in the lineup. It is really hard to be that awful for that long. Heck, the Knicks have gotten to 30 wins every few years.
I'd rather have a guy like Love on an all star team than lets say Odom. Love is one of the best player on his team and gets a lot of attention from other teams which makes it harder for him to put up better numbers than lets say Odom, who doesnt even start if his whole team is healthy, but puts up numbers cause teams focus on Kobe and Gasol more.. i just think its harder to carry a team (good or bad) than being a good role player.
I think for this season you would be hard-pressed to find a coach that would think he would win more games with Kevin Love on the roster than Lamar Odom.
The starter argument does not hold weight. Odom came off the bench because starting was more important to the ego of Bynum than it is to him.
Do you think Richard Jefferson deserves to be an all star over Love? Jefferson starts, but he is on a team with 3 other great players in Parker, Ginobili, and Duncan. I don't think he is better than any of those guys and isn't as important as them either. So would you give an all star spot to a guy who is about the 4th best player on a good team or the 1st or 2nd best player and a bad team. If Love was on the Spurs I think he would still put up good numbers around what he is doing now. Yes, I agree we should reward winning, but these guys are playing there asses of on the losing team too, usually.. So why shouldn't they get rewarded. It's not always that players fault his team is bad and that he has to do more work than he should. He'd probably rather be a winner than an all star anyways, so why not just give him some props.
Losing teams rarely get their players rewarded with Allstas appearances. Kevin Love deserves an allstasr appearance just as much as Al Jefferson did in past years, its not gonna happen.
Sorry but in order to be a allstar you have to put up good numbers while leading youre team to a win. should a player like Darko be a allstar if he had the best stats on a team consisting of
the candy man
and the teams record is say 3-15?
darko is playing his azz off but the team is bad so he should make the allstar team over a guy like paul millsap who's numbers are close but his team is actually winning?
Youre stats have to lead to victories in order to be considered a allstar. Kinda like being in the HOF if you put up 20 and 10 for a career on the clippers but made the playoffs one time in a 10 year span should you be considered a Hall o fFamer?
No you dont deserve a allstar appearence if you have another guy or two at youre position whos putting up similar numbers and they are winning games
I dont see both Wall and Griffin making the team maybe just Griffin but it is going to be hard.
G - Deron Williams - Has been the best point guard in the league and led the Jazz to big wins. MVP worthy.
G - Kobe Bryant - No brainer.
F - Carmelo Anthony - He's been better than Durant. He's been more efficient and clutch.
F - Dirk Nowitzki - Having another great season as usual.
C - Pau Gasol - It's arguable he's been the best player on the Lakers.
G - Chris Paul - Having a great season and the Hornets are overachieving.
G - Tony Parker - He's having a great season on the best team. Gets the nod over Nash and Kidd.
G - Russell Westbrook - He's been the best player on the Thunder. Gets the nod over Monta Ellis and Brandon Roy.
G - Manu Ginobli - The best player on the Spurs and the second best two in the West. I like him over Rudy Gay.
F - Kevin Durant - He hasn't shot the ball well, but he's getting to the line a lot and having a good season.
F - Lamar Odom - He's played like an All-Star this season and the game is in LA, so why not? Millsap, Randolph and West are worthy of this spot as well.
C - Tim Duncan - Questionable pick, but Duncan is still averaging 14, 9 and almost 2 blocks on the best team in the West. He's made the All-Star game every year of his career.
G - Rajon Rondo - He's been the best player on the best team in the East
G - Derrick Rose - He's having an amazing season.
F - LeBron James - He's getting his numbers and has the Heat above .500.
F - Amare Stoudemire - He's putting up good numbers and has the Knicks sitting at .500.
C - Dwight Howard - Looking like the MVP of the league.
G - Jameer Nelson - His numbers don't jump out at you like Wall, Felton or Harris, but he's been great on a great team. He's the Magic's closer.
G - Dwayne Wade - He hasn't played great, but still gets the nod as a reserve over Joe Johnson, who hasn't been great either.
F - Paul Pierce - Having a great season.
F - Danny Granger - He's led the Pacers to an above .500 record and is back to playing defense.
F - Josh Smith - What isn't he doing for the Hawks? He should've gotten the nod last year... Gets it this year over Kevin Garnett, who's quietly having a good season as well.
F/C - Al Horford - He's having as good of a season as he did last year, so I like him to make his second appearance.
C - Joakim Noah - He's not as "replaceable" as people deemed him to be during the Melo trade discussions. Having a great season.
