valentineDamn this is a good game. Who ever said Marshall was slow for a point guard must not watch him much. He is very quick and has been blowing by Thomas when he decides to get in the lane. Zeller is balling, Utah’s C,J Wilcox is ballin. Henson is long as hell. Barnes J is wet and he has the makings of a lock down type defender. Washington is stronger down low though

The lake show2Anyone else notice that Barnes has a hard time getting all the way to the basket?..Not just this game, he can almost get there and then hit a pull up or glide from 5 feet out but rarely do i see him get all the way to the cup

D7H7NParticipantThat last call with 7 seconds left is BS, washington totally knocked that ball out of bounds.

HaleParticipantZeller has stepped up and played well. Now they need a stop.

JimmeredYaWabafetParticipantlol what the shit
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 8:27am #511595
D7H7NParticipantThat was definitely goaltending by Henson, but it looked liked Thomas’ feet were inside the arc.

fliptonnParticipantwhy would they ever have overton take the most important shots? isiah may be a freshman but hes a proven clutch performer and the leading scorer. that was just sad.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 8:40am #511600
BKKnicksfanParticipantWell, I guess Washington has to live with that robbery I guess.
UNC got ALL the calls, Washington lost .9 on the clock (should have been 1.4 sec last possession) and a goltend on the final shot.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 8:44am #511602
dalinkerParticipantEven if the last shot was goaltending, it was a 2 pt heave. still UNC won by 1 pt
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 8:46am #511604
BKKnicksfanParticipantNorth Carolina had 23 free throws
Washington had 7
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 8:53am #511606
HaleParticipantThat was not a goaltend. They showed the replay from the side and it wasn’t even close. It looked like a goaltend when it happened but it definitely wasn’t.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 8:54am #511608
The lake show2Watching the game you should have seen why they had more freethrows. when you avoid contact you tend to not get the calls or if your shooting jumpers or fade aways instead of jumping into the guy or taking it to the hole.
Isah isn’t a freshman who ever said that but you re right i would think he would be bringing the ball down the court. That’s not why they lost though. Good game but the better team won today
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 8:56am #511609
The lake show2Even if the shot isnt going in its still goaltending if you’re hitting the ball before it has a chance to bounce off the rim again which this ball could have done.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 8:57am #511611
HaleParticipantYou must not have seen the replay.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 8:59am #511613
The lake show2yeah i did and watched the game. Ive seen goaltending calls when the ball had even less of a chance to hit the Rim again or even the first time.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 9:04am #511616
HaleParticipantHe didn’t even touch the ball…it hit the rim…
Again. You did not see the replay from the right angle.

shaq2355ParticipantOk lets say it was goaltending…His whole foot was still on the line and it would have been a 2, so what does it matter and how did they get robbed???? Still would have lost by 1!!!!
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 9:44am #511639
llperezwashington got screwed, there should have been 1.2 seconds remaining instead of 0.5. THat extra would have allowed isaiah to get behind the line. And it was goaltending regardless if it was a 2 or 3.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 9:45am #511640
llperezthe sorry thing is that lorenzo romar asked the officials to review the ammount of time remaining which is somehting they are allowed to do and they told him no. Makes no sense.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 10:10am #511653
llperezwow, the ncaa head of officials comes on and got into it with greg anothony on the amount of time left on the clock. The head of officials defended the the refs saying the clock stops not when the ball is out of bounds but when the whuisltle blows and that there is no way the refs could have surely got the call correct. Greg then says so if they bew the whistle early with like 2 seconds left then they couldnt change the call? The head of officals runs from the question and says thats too many hypotheticals to get into, lol. Refs missed the call. The ref even released a statement that he was asked to review the time left by lorenzo romar but he told the coach no it was correctly called and there was no need for review. Also, they showed the replay of the imbounds pass that was tipped and stolen with 7 seconds remaining and the unc player was standing over the line out of bounds when he tipped it which should have been a technical foul on unc. Refs pretty much sucked down the stretch.

The lake show2Either way they lost. nothing anyone can do about it but move on and not cry over something that can’t be changed. They should have done the little things during the game before that point so they wouldn’t have been put in that position. Lot of dumb mistake near the end of the game done by the team that had nothing to do with the refs
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 10:18am #511659
llperezyour right, they lost. only thing we can do is not cry about the horrible officiating and blatant missed calls. Refs screwed the huskies and who knows who wins if they did their job correctly, so yeah ill call them out for it.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 10:22am #511660
llperezand i know calls are missed all the time and its part of the game, but thats no reason to just accept it and let calls that decided who won the game go becasue hey it happens.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 10:25am #511661
The lake show2lol..yeah that’s the mark of a loser if they start blaming the refs for the reason they lost. had nothing to do with the bad defense or not boxing out on the rebounding or bad shot or bad fouls. None of that got them to the point where they left the game in the hands of the ref( which they didn’t because its not like the refs took points way from them or didn’t call a foul) They missed there last two shots. Who can they blame for missing there last two shots? I wonder how far crying to the refs is gonna get them. Maybe they will decide to bring all the players back and put 1.5 more seconds on the clock.
Sorry but the last call did not decide the game. It wasnt tied and there wasnt no phantom call that cause UNC to score and put them up
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 10:29am #511665
llperezyeah, the refs missing the call that allowed the unc player to go to the line instead of the washington player to go th eline when he was standing out of bounds and defelected the inbounds pass during a 1 point game didnt have a direct impact on the score? Actually it did. And missingf the time left on the clock happens which is why the rule is in place to review it and they declined to do the review. Why? did they have a date after the game? Was something more important then taking a minute to make sure they got the call right? Or were they so confident in there inhuman like reflexes that they nailed it within tenths of a second on the spot?
So basically you are saying nobody should ever call out refs no matter what they missed because that is a "mark of a loser"?

The lake show2" Like a good neighbor state farm is there….with the worlds smallest violin"
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 10:38am #511670
llperezyes, im crying and you have nothjing to combat my reasons other then "hey your team lost stop crying… ill play a violin for you". Refs fucked up, it happens. But as a sports fan i like to see who the better team is and when the refs prevent that from happening im gonna call them out.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 10:40am #511671
HaleParticipantI don’t think anyone is going to argue that Washington is a better team then UNC.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 10:41am #511672
llperezif washington had won then they were the better team today.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/20/2011 - 10:42am #511675
HaleParticipantCan’t really argue with that.
