IlladelphParticipantHorrible officiating whole game. Started with two goal-tending calls against Bam Adebayo and pretty much was downhill from there. Probably gave UNC an 8 point advantage. I think Kentucky got robbed. I would have loved to have sen these two great teams just go at it instead of the referees getting it so wrong and taking a great gaem away from us.

SubZeroParticipantIt’s hard to blame the refs too much now just because the 2nd half was a lot better and that’s all most people will remember, but yeah I agree that the game would’ve been a lot different if the 1st half wasn’t so awful. Not even as a Kentucky fan, just as a basketball fan I knew that it was some of the worst officiating I’ve seen

D7H7NParticipantUNC committed a lot of turnovers in the second half. Kentucky had a 5 point lead with less than 5 minutes to go and UNC responded with a 12-0 run. The first half was poorly officiated but basketball is a game of runs and how teams respond. Kentucky made 9 points in the last minute but Luke Maye responded with game winner.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantWho would have guessed that UNC-UK would have been the worst played game (coaching, execution, flow, decion-making everything) of the Elite Eight? This was a game where you came away thinking worse of everyone but Luke Maye and Isaac Humphries, which was not what anyone was looking for going in.
It doesn’t necessarily mean anything for what will take place next Saturday or Monday, but an objective person can look at the teams in the Final Four and argue UNC has played the worst. Oregon has been on a movie with a major injury, huge comeback win, pulled another one out at the last second, and then rolled a blue blood in that team’s home state.. Gonzaga won a dogfight with West Virginia and then put on a show against Xavier. After losing 6 of their final 9 down the stretch, South Carolina has imposed their style on every game in the tournament, and used that to win these second halves. This tournament has been fun. It can kind of deflated the hype for this draft if you are pro-tank and thinking there are saviors, but it has been captivating.

airenn34ParticipantSMDH. Nobody on this site wants to give really give credit to UNC. The best you can do is to blame the refs? Nobody mentions the toughness of Joel Berry who sprained both ankles but kept battling. Justin Jackson cemented his All Anerican status. Maybe you are still salty that he won ACC POY but he’s playing unbelievable and probably positioned himself late lottery. How bout Roy Williams and the job he’s done considering he’s wiffed on all these OAD talent. Sure this team is not flashy but cmon what else do you want, they play right and fun to watch. So neg away guys neg away but my team is back in the final 4.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantIt is a survive and advance tournament, and for that they deserve credit. They can still win it, might even be the favorites, but it was not an impressive or well-played game. Thrilling ending, but sloppy, poorly played, and poorly coached game. Cal’s continued mastery of destroying anthing resembling a functional halfcourt offense was almost undone by Roy having Kennedy Meeks as his inbounder against the press.

kingoftheplaygroundParticipantroy williams and unc do it again. guy is great coach. justin jackson looks like he could develop into a very good nba player. deaaron fox as well. the question mark for me is Derek Willis. guy is 6’9 228 pound sniper. not saying hell be an all star but i believe he can make it on an NBA roster.

SubZeroParticipantIf Willis couldn’t even stop Luke Maye, I’m not sure who he’d even try to guard in the NBA

kobyzParticipantJustin Jackson game is identical to Sam Dekker when he took Wisconsin to the final four…
