Lorenzo Brown is a PROBLEM. he is gettin everything he wants in transition, whether its passes, layups or jumpers. Brown plays with alot of flash and is an impressive ball-handler and passer man, but he has thew size and athleticism to get to the rim and finish nicely too. He really looks like an NBA PG with NBA SG size. He’s really looking like a lotto pick this game because he’s hitting his jumpers too

Roy Williams isnt lookin good as an in game coach.

The guard play for UNC hasnt been good….and their bigs arent close to skilled enough to overshadow it.

NC State is playing haunting defense…UNC either has to be cautious about its passes or risk getting it stolen and taken the other way for scores.

James McAdoo just isnt very good to me, especially when matched up with athleticism.

CJ Leslie is making athletic plays and had a nice dunk for an and-1 too when McAdoo switched slowly and left him open for a split second.

Richard Howell looks like a 3rd or 4th PF for an NBA team. He’s strong and light on his feet, but he did get 2 fouls for loose balls.

Purvis has played well and make some nice energy plays, including a steal and breakaway dunk. He’s going to be a nice player for them for the next year or 2

As UNC fan this game is hard to watch, we have ZERO guys that can create their own shot

CJ Leslie’s athleticism is a problem. Lorenzo Brown has really picked up his play of late and is doing a better job of distributing the ball then he’s ever done before.

Anybody else notice how ridiculously efficient TJ Warren is for a wing player?

He is a mismatch. He really probably could play PF alot if need be. Warren reminds me of Deshaun Thomas

Roy Williams is too stubborn to make the necessary changes for this team to be better. He needs to get Brice Johnson and Hairston more minutes. Its simple they are two guys that get buckets when they enter the game, Joel James also need more minutes yes he’s raw but his size and strength alone makes him an impact, he slowed down Howell and Leslie when in.In big games like today he sit Hairston and Brice for long stretches after any little mistake they make even if they’re playing good offensively.

Bottom line is Hairston should be starting to relieve some of the scoring pressure off Bullock and McAdoo. McDonald and Johnson can replace his production of the bench, becuase Strickland is really a none factor with this starting lineup right now. Him and Paige dont play particular well with each other, his injury has limited him drastically and he’s not as good of a defender or attacker. If this team is going to reach its potential he needs to make some changes before its too late.

you guys did notice that when UNC stopped all that running and gunning crap w/o defense (against a team like State who shoots high % and are deadly in transition) and ran some screens in half court they came all the way back. PJ can get his shot, plus he has parking lot range. That opens things up for Bullock.

Marcus Paige and Dexter Strickland shooting 17 shots between them is idiotic. Hairston is the best player but doesnt play 20 min. McAdoo for all his criticism still plays and produces. Tokoto and James dont get good min. Jackson Simmons actually should get more minutes too….good fundamental player that came in and got some easy buckets.

    Roy will never learn.

Idc what anyone says.. JP Tokoto is the best prospect Carolina has. He had allot of hype coming out of high school and i see why. Me and my brother always be saying Roy hating on him by not letting him shine because he wants him to come back next year, they havent recruited a wing player yet. JP has a Vince Carter/ Derozan game and he also is a good passer, ok shooter and hes a good defender. Everyone knows he can jump out the gym. If anyone has watched NC games they would see this kid has tons of potential. Could be a lottery pick this year or next year because he has allot of “upside”, like how Paul George was.

I somewhat agree. Right now Tokoto isnt on anyone’s radar, but he could be a player like Westbrook who breaks out in a season. He is an elite athlete who has good all around skills. A player like that just needs opportunity and confidence to build a head of steam. I could definitely see him as being a Sefolosha type with more upside.

JP Tokoto did whatever he wanted. Very dangerous prospect when he puts it all together. The guys has PG skills as well. He and Strickland should switch minutes. Hairston needs to start. Strickland is just plain bad.

Leslie>>>>>McAdoo and I am a UNC homer. Poor Paige looked overmatched.

Strickland isnt bad when he does his job. Likewise with Paige. Their job doesnt include jacking up shots though. They both shoot too much, especially Paige. Paige is a good shooter when he sets and takes his shot within the offense, but when he races down and shoots pull ups, thats not his game. Its like nobody knows what their job is. PJ doesnt play 20 min and doesnt shoot as many shots as Paige….whats wrong with that picture?

Also, its not that Roy doesnt want JP to shine, its that Roy doesnt know how to use the guy….and I doubt Roy even knows how good the kid can be.

I am just gonna come out and say it, CJ Leslie is a better player then McAdoo and Leslie’s athleticism is rare enough that combined with his skill set make him a better pro player in my eyes too. People wanna say Leslie is too skinny but he’s athletic enough to guard 3 positions while McAdoo has the body he still don;t have a PF body and he’s not quick enough to cover SG’s on a switch. I think Leslie’s game translates better right now.

McAdoo could be a totally different player in another year if he had someone to work with him…particularly on his footwork. He could be a totally different player. McAdoo is certainly not ready to be a contributor at the next level, but if he stays another year and someone really works with this guy, he has great potential. Right now he is basically just a physical specimen who doesnt know how to play and has raw skills.

Yeah McAdoo is a specimen but he’s about 2 inches too short to be drafted high just because he’s big and athletic, because he’s honestly not big enough or athletic enough to become a star off of it. Like if he was 6’10” his athleticism and heigh would allow him to become a force at PF, but he’s 6’8″ so instead of becoming a Blake Griffin type player he’s gonna be relegated to becoming a Thad Young type player. Only he doesn’t have Thad’s skill level.

I was never a big McAdoo fan because he never did one thing that stood out to me. McAdoo doesn’t do anything that makes me say hey I want that guy on my team so he can do that. He’s like the defintion of solid but unspactacular.

CJ Leslie on the other hand is something else. He reminds me of Darius Miles a little bit, mixed with Hakim Warrick in college. Leslie’s game is very underrated people fail to realize how good his footwork is, and how dangerous his combination of quickness and hops are. I was told that Leslie’s body is too fail and he won’t be able to finish in traffic. But he’s proven over and over that he actually excels at finishing in contact. He’s one of the best finishers in the ACC.

If you put Leslie on an uptempo team he’s going to be an impact player right away in the league because he runs the floor hard, hustles and makes plays on defense, and will become a fixture on highlights finishing oops.
