ADavis is ballin i think he could be the #1 pick in the Draft. Barnes has been hurt, but his pot is still high Top3 Value IMO. There will be tons of scouts @this game, its pretty early in the season but this is still a huge game, with 5-7 future lottery picks on the court for both teams. Now keys to the game.

    • Teague. Does UNC have the Lateral quickness to defend an Elite PG. The PG for UNLV had a career night against them.
    • Barnes: Can he rise to an Elite level of play with his hurt ankle
    • JHenson & AD who will win this battle of Interior Giants?

I Think the Wildcats will win & AD will dominate & will cement his Place on the BB for the next 2-3 months.

I wouldn’t call Teague elite, at least not yet. But he should be able to have his way with Marshall offensively. Davis will probably have a big game because he is a bigger, better version of Henson and Zeller can’t guard him and will struggle to score against him if they matchup. Kentucky should win because they matchup well overall.

my biggest concern is UNC’s backcourt being able to hang with teague and lamb, and also are they athletic enough on the frontline?

As far as the PG matchup, Teague’s going to be able to get by K.Marshall at will but what will really be interesting will be his decision making once he gets in the paint.  Henson is always lurking to Block shots and a lot of times Teague has been overpenetrating and getting his shot block or turning it over.

Really like the MKG vs Harrison Barnes matchup as well.  MKG may be the best defender Barnes has seen at the college level….and with the hurt ankle not sure what his explosiveness will be like.  Still think he will score a good bit on catch and shoots from Marshall kick outs

I think the inside matchups of T.Jones/A.Davis vs Henson/Zeller will end up about equal.  Sometimes TJones can struggle against length and trying to do too much.  Henson could possibly give him trouble.  But in the end i think the bigs play to about even meaning who plays better at pg, sg, and sf decides it.

    Can’t wait

^Best line of the thread. If I didn’t know any better, I would say you are typing this on your phone. Well, I guess we will find out, but, I guess it is better than your "Bulls in Heat" rants which I hope are never repeated. I think that it will be a solid game, but I actually think North Carolina matches up pretty well with them. I think Kentucky can be bodied and that UNC has solid athletes as well.

Plus, for the most part, Marquis Teague has been incredibly erratic. Kentucky is super talented, but they need to make much better decisions and I think if they turn the ball over, which they more than likely will, than UNC will make them pay. I think Anthony Davis is a tremendous prospect, but I am not sure he dominates this one. I think now is a good time for Harrison Barnes to prove his worth and for Tyler Zeller to get a guy like Davis in foul trouble. He killed them in the Elite 8 last year.

Plus, Dick Vitale chose Kentucky. That is a kiss of death if I have ever seen one. Either way, I just want it to be a good game. Kentucky has home court advantage and they have the advantage in transition. But, I do not think they have played a team like UNC yet, and those guys will give them all they can handle in the half court.

I think UNC is smart enough to take it to the middle early and try to get them in foul trouble. If they have to go deep, advantage completely goes to UNC. Kentucky needs a wake-up call, and I think this will be it. They are a great team, but they still have a lot to work on and I think that will come with time.

I was just looking @ John Hollinger earlier & he said Barnes was the 2nd best player in College. Wish i could watch his game and be sold on him being that Grant Hill/Pippen type of player that Teams Love to build around.

@Yeah his "pot is still high" was totally unplanned, I’m done with those types of post.

no doubt will win UNC, have more experience and IQ, Barnes will be the key to winning games in the close games grows and becomes a superstar, do not think his ankle is a problem, andshould not hurt

This will be a great game filled with tons of future NBA potential.  Both teams are very good teams but I honestly think Kentucky has got it.  They seem to have a much better supporting cast then UNC does.  I think Anthony Davis + Perry Jones + Michael Kidd-Gilchrist = Best frontcourt in the nation, or at least top 3.  Great young talent coming out of Kentucky, and UNC for that matter.

Calling Teague Elite is a stretch take out his games against Marist, Portland, and Radford and he is averaging           8 ppg 3 asts 2.5 rebs 4.25 TOs

The Henson and Davis battle will be the highlight, personally I think they are practically the same player with Henson being more post oriented and Davis more mid ranged oriented.

    Or TJones.

btw what position will TJones play in the L. I think he has Marvin Williams type of body & game, could be a consistent 12ppg type of guy.

UK win of course, Marshall’s defense is very bad against quick PG, UNC gives up too many rebounds. Teague is the key, like someone said his decision making once he gets past Marshall will determine the game. UNC players have not faced a defense like this all year and they have trouble against dribble drive
