TarHeelRavenParticipantOld ACC rivals reunite in Chapel Hill for the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. Been looking forward to this game since I saw it scheduled since I live outside of DC about 30 minutes away from campus and haven been trash-talking all my Maryland friends for the past 5 months. Diamond Stone and Kennedy Meeks will be battling all night long in the paint. Stone has started out slow, but he is an immense talent that can put up big numbers. I think the x-factor for Maryland is Rasheed Sulaimon. He’s been on fire from 3. I think I saw he was like 12-24 to start the season. When he plays well, Maryland is tough to beat. Of course the former Dookie will receive a nice welcome from the Carolina crowd. Paige returns from his broken hand and will battle Trimble all night long. Great game and can’t wait. Predictions?

NBAjunkie81Participantor at least it feels that way…. 2002….. I don’t think UNC had a great team that year but I remember Duke had a great team that was a #1 seed w/ Jay Williams & Carlos Boozer…. #1 seed Kansas was led by Drew Gooden & Kirk Heinrich…
The Final Four consisted of Oklahoma, Kansas, Indiana & Maryland…. (I just looked all that up in case anyone wanted to walk down memory lane for 2002)…
Anyway, I really enjoy when Maryland has a top recruiting class b/c I LUV the Rivalry between Maryland Basketball & the Carolina Tar Heels & Duke Blue Devils….
It’s great Drama… Maryland looks so strong w/ Trimble playing well…. they are ranked #2….. but I like #9 ranked UNC to win the game at home….

raybeasParticipantof that Final Four was 6’4″ AJ Moye stuffing Boozer’s shot in the F4.
Who was the best pro from that Final… Chris Wilcox…Jared Jeffries…Steve Blake…Dixon? (Slim pickins)

circumlocution75ParticipantI like Maryland in a squeeker… You know how the ACC goes – So many good teams! – no one will be undefeated for long

ncballerMaryland has not looked that impressive to me this year. They needed a come from behind victory against Rider at home.
That being said, they match up really well with UNC because Trimble and Sulaimon are good at getting into the lane and UNC has been terrible at defending penetration. Paige vs Trimble will be fun to watch. Should be a good one!
