    The college 3 point contest has inspired me to make this thread. John Shurna of Northwestern has one of the ugliest looking jump shots I have ever seen, and the remarkable thing is that he is a hell of a shooter (44 percent from 3) in spite of his awkward form.

    With that being said, who do you think has the ugliest/most awkward jump shot in either the college or pro ranks?

    Big Bill Cartwright is a good call, so sticking with former players Bill Lambeer had a terrible, laser beam flat J and shot the 3 both often and fairly well. Also, does Anthony Mason’s bizarre Free Throw form count?

    Yes, Bill Cartwright is the guy that came to mind as soon as i saw this thread. Lets keep the legendary Big Bill Laimbeer outta this one 🙂 haha.

    Speaking of Bill – he quickly worked out he wasn’t fast or athletic enough around the rim so thats why he improved his outside shot over his career.

    4 all -star games, led the league in rebounding, 2 rings. A guy everyone hated but also one of the first guys you would choose to have on your own side…. Not bad for a 3rd round draft pick who was slow, non athtletic and couldn’t jump…

    Cole Aldrich for me …sheesh. I wonder how someone can pick up a ball and say hmm, I’ll just bring this as far back behind my head as posiible and launch it at the basket. I mean, it’s amazing how the form is natural for some of these players lol

    I would have to say Bismack Biyombo. He doesn’t even really have a jumpshot, he just kinda throws the ball toward the rim… I wouldn’t say it’s ugly at all, but Kevin Martin’s form is so unique I think it has to be mentioned..

    Chuck Hayes free throw is ridiculous
    Shawn Marion looks like he never even tried learning how to shoot
    Ronnie Brewer had a waterside accident when he was a kid so his elbow sticks out when he shoots
    Joakim Noah shoots the ball with a side spin lol
