MkadozaParticipantShabazz will play and UCLA, a young and talented team will matchup with an unimpressive Georgetown team that hopefully gets Otto Porter back. Definitely excited to see the debut of Shabazz, and wonder if his lack of an off hand dribble will keep him from attacking a la Barnes. I think he impresses with at least 17 points.

Officialthere is Bazz with his first J.
I look for one thing in shooting… ability to square up your jumper in mid air. Bazz got that!

MkadozaParticipantAnd then his inability to go right and the fact that everyone knows it shows up. His jumpshot is absolutely gorgeous tho.

Officiali know is hard to tell when the game is going so fast but i seriously hate the inconsistencies with the right call when charges are taken.

For_Never_EverParticipantWow. no one on UCLA can pentrate or drive the ball.
Dickie Vitale needs to stop talking, he is getting so annoying.

M-EazyParticipantWhat is Kyle Anderson’s role on the team?? That’s what I’ve been trying to figure out while watching the game.
0- Posted on: Mon, 11/19/2012 - 4:20pm #729102
For_Never_EverParticipantHe isn’t dynamic. The only thing he does is bring the ball up and facilitaes on top of the key. UCLA needs play someone else on point that can penetrate and speed up the game.

M-EazyParticipantLooks like Drew brings the ball up the court to me. No way Kyle "Slo-Mo" Anderson will be one and done this season if he continues to have no role on this team.

M-EazyParticipantYou have what is suppose to be the most dynamic scorer in college basketball and you’re down 11…why is he on the bench?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 11/19/2012 - 4:34pm #729107
For_Never_EverParticipantPorter would fit in perfectly with the Spurs.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI’ve been impressed with Porters all aroud game and disappointed with Kyle Anderson.

M-EazyParticipantTo put it simple this UCLA team seems to lack structure. Nobody seems to be on the same page.

M-EazyParticipantDid UCLA do all that appeal process to have Muhammad on the bench when he’s obviously needed?!?! WTF take Kyle Anderson out and replace him with Muhammad. I simply hate watching a coach not coach and make the right subs.

Da1potParticipantKyle Anderson is as mediocre an athlete as they come….

alex23Participanti thought shabazz was not agressive but he had 15 points in limited time not bad for a guy outta shape

drk3351ParticipantUCLA had some awful tournovers, that and Georgetown outshooting them cost them the game

SiggyParticipantOtto Porter’s the ish. He’s got an AK47 type floor game and activity.
I agree that Kyle Anderson shouldn’t be bringing the ball up. He should be playing the high post to take advantage of his height and vision. Out on the perimeter he’s not nearly as useful since he doesn’t have deep range yet.
Shabazz had an ok debut. His jumper looks tighter, especially from deep. Everything was on line, just a little strong. He needs to learn that he can’t shoot through people at this level though.

BigChamp12ParticipantI got a couple of questions, anyone feel free to answer.
Can Kyle Anderson play the 3 or the 4 at the NBA level? He nowhere near strong or fast. Someone on another post was sayiing he could play hybrid 4 in the league. No way! I thought hybrid 4’s had size and strength along with the face up skillset.
Does Josh Smith have any hope to be a standout player? NBA future?
Do the Wear twins have NBA futures?
ANd was it me, or was Shabazz gettin overlooked tonight? I saw alot of times where he should’ve got the ball but didnt receive it. Could’ve been just me wanting to see him with the ball though.
Last question, how far will they go?

SiggyParticipantI think Kyle can play some 4, but he’s gonna have to hit the weights. Not every PF comes to the league with an NBA ready body or skillset anyways. He has the length and the frame, what he really needs is a dependable face up jumper. He’s actually playing injured right now with a bone bruise on the wrist of his shooting hand, so that could explain some of his shooting woes. I htink he might eventually need surgery becasue that injury has been nagging him for a while. For now, I’m taking him out of 2013. I’ll give hiim a year to see if he can add the body strength and improve his jumper before I write him off as a good NBA prospect.

BigChamp12ParticipantYea I agree, he needs another season if he plays like this the entire season

smd971ParticipantThe hype surrounding Anderson reminds me of Lamar Odom coming out of high school as far as size and ability to see the court. I don’t think Anderson could play the 4 right now but, I would have said the same thing out from Odom coming out of high school too.
Josh Smith if he loses 60 lbs.
It didn’t look like UCLA knew what to do with Shabazz on the court. Give them some time and allow Howland to run some plays through him and he’ll look so much better than they did tonight.
Also, G’town 2-3 zone really interupted the flow to UCLA. They looked terrible against it.
I liked Markel Starks game, think he has a future as a backup PG with his ability to knock down open jumpers and handle the ball.

llperezearly season test for a team still figuring it self out. Once again, jordan adams was the teams best plaeyr and dropped 20+. That guy is legit. Biggest probelm is defense where gtown just got consistently better looks and actually made them. Better team one. But bruins will get much better. ALso, im pissed at the refs for missing that call where david wear got hurt and had to leave the game for good. It was a 4 point game at that point and he was on his way for an easy offensive put back to make it 2 and oto porter just full on shoved him with a stiff arm while he was in the air and sent him flying and he wasnt able to come back. No idea what the refs are wathcing there.

theballerwayParticipantHe didnt score at all but he had 7 reb 6 assist 3 steals and a block. Im willing to bet he will normall chip inaround 10 points atleast, which as all that stat line is missing.
Them UNC rejects need to step up also. Especially Mr Drew because for allk the talk about how comfortable n settled he looked he only had 4 points.
Once they all get settled as a team and find a rythm Im sure this team will be quite dangerous. Man if Smith was only in shape
