HaleParticipantI watched a few Kansas games last year and at times he looked like a very good player, I just assumed he was a senior so when I found out he was a freshmen I was really shocked. Then when I looked for him being a draft prospect, he was no where to be found? Now I don’t know a whole lot about him but I have heard his name a few times in recent posts so can anyone tell me more about him and why he isn’t on any mocks?

HaleParticipantI thought he started, maybe I am wrong though.
He played 26.5 min per game and got 9.7 ppg with 2.3 rpg and 3 apg. I don’t think he was their 8th man.

kpi03ParticipantHe was their starter at the 2 guard. The reason he isnt on any mocks probably is because he was fairly unknown coming out of high school.. he was on a stacked st anthonys team. He was more productive as a freshman in college than a senior in high school. He has a very nice game he just makes a lot of dumb turnovers, but that will come with being a freshman. Extremely fast and plays excellent defense. Given time I think he will be a legit prospect after spending atleast 3 years at Kansas.

futureGM22ParticipantHe started alongside Sherron Collins and you’ll here a lot more about him this year. He has had a great summer and was one of the standout at the U19 USA tryouts. He made the team and I think he’ll have a breakout season at KU

MuggsyParticipantHe will rise the ranks this year. Does anyone from Kansas not go to the NBA? I mean seriously, even their bad players seem to make it. Lol.

morgatilParticipantHe is on the U19 team right now and killing it. He is poised to be a break out star next year. Same with Darius MIller. They smoked Iran yesterday like 106 – 55.

jgunnaParticipantHow will you hear a whole lot more from him when he’ll be playing back-up mins at both guard spots behind Collins, and Henry? He’s a good player, but will have plenty of time to shine as a junior after Collins, and Xavier Henry leave after next season.

JoeWolf1Taylor is a great prospect, a little like Mario Chalmers but a little weaker on D and three point shooting, but i bet he doesn’t come out til 2011, Xavier Henry is one and done and with Collins gone after next year Taylor is going to blow up as a Junior. Him and Elijah Johnson are going to be one hell of a back court by then and it wouldn’t surprise me if they both took off after 2011

JoeWolf1KU runs a lot of 3 guard lineups too, i bet Collins, Taylor, Henry, Mc Morris and Aldrich are starters, he’s too good for Self to play him backup minutes

gatorheelsParticipantdraftexpress has Taylor as a first round pick in the 2010 draft

JoeWolf1I’m sure they do, but i don’t think he leaves until 2011 unless Ku wins the National Championship

joe2BAParticipantEverything kpi03 posted sums it right on and sums up why he isn’t on the mocks.
As far as his game is concerned,His NBA comparable would probably be Jrue Holliday.
He has very good size for a PG at 6’3 with long arms.
Terrific end to end speed is probably his best asset (Sherron said he is fastest player he’s seen at KU)
Very good but not John Wall quickness and first step
Good expolosiveness and leaping ability
Very good on the ball defender for a freshmanHas the athletic talent to be a very productive point guard but at this point he needs to definitely develop the skill set. Needs to improve jumper, decision making, and especially ball handling. At this point in is career, all three are probably a little above average (except maybe ball handling) for his age, but to be recognized as a lottery level guard will DEFINATELY have to improve in all three. Has very good scoring instinct for a point guard, HE DROPPED 47 in a exhibition game freshman year.
Won’t have impressive stats this year because we are loaded, but like joewolf said: watch out when self lets him run the show when he is a Junior.
