hair of the barnesParticipantWhere do you think Ty Lawson ends up?
Nuggets just signed Jameer Nelson to a 3yr deal presumably to back up Mudiay. What are some good destinations for Ty Lawson? He’s getting 12.4mil this year and 13mil next year.

bmac697ParticipantI liked the Kings fit, but now with rondo theyes no need for a trade. It’s tough to predict where he goes, I was reading and article were chancey billups was saying he shows up late to practice and isn’t the best team leader. What would his value be where it seems like every team has a pg with potential or already getting paid. I honestly don’t know where he would get traded too.

I May Be WrongParticipantKings! – Wait… just landed Rondo
Mavs! …. wait, just got Deron Williams….(#PrayForDirk)
Lakers! …. ehhh clarkson is looking pretty good, D’Angelo will get playing time.
Much like ProudGrandpa at a gentleman’s club, things got pretty hard very fast. Not many options I can think off to be honest…and having Lawson in Denver seems destined to cause turmoil.
In my opinion, the Bucks would benefit so much from Lawson’s shooting instead of MCW being their. It wouldn’t really benefit the Nuggets to take back MCW tho with Mudiaye and Nelson there. But on paper, Lawson looks perfect for the Bucks.
So… uhhh…. Sixers need a PG as discussed in other forums? lol I don’t think we have the pieces they’d want except for one of our later picks.
Yeah… I dunno, Lawson is a toss up to me. Have no clue where he can fit and thrive to be honest.

bmac697Participantif I had to pick a team, I would agree bucks would be good option. I really like how this team has constructed themselves these past couple years. I didn’t see the Monroe signing, but was really happy for him a think it was a great fit. This team does need more shooting and Lawson would bring that over mcw, but I don’t see the nuggets wanting him in return and the bucks already have vasques as their back up. Maybe the nets make a run, but they just paid there old pg like 30 million to walk away I don’t see them paying Lawson 12.5 million

machu46ParticipantLawson does make some sense for the Bucks, but Jason Kidd hand-picked MCW. He’s going to get at least this year to show improvement before they’d consider moving him IMO.
And for what it’s worth, the Bucks were rumored to be interested in Lawson at the deadline too.

TRC1991ParticipantIn all seriousness, Brooklyn needs a starting PG – and they seem to be content with being right on the edge of medicority – something Ty Lawson’s teams have always been.
Think they’d be a good fit.

festar35ParticipantHouston – They want another back-court playmaker and Lawson fits that bill. He can get out and push the tempo with Harden also the fact the the Rockets are a winning team might stop Lawson forming running his mouth.
Brooklyn – They just lost Williams and a due for a replacement, in the East a combo of Lawson, Johnson, Young and Lopez will get you in the play-off picture. Brooklyn may like Lawson as he has a chip on his shoulder and plays with swagger, something Williams has done for some time.
New York – Basically an upgrade from Calderon and again New Yorkers may like that chippy nature he has, he could fit ok in the offence and again with Carmelo and Lopez could be enough for play-off push.
Long-shot Philly – Lawson probably wouldn’t be overly happy about it, but he could feed the ball to Okafor and Noel, as well as add some money to the roster that Philly can absorb.
Houston or Brooklyn to me would be the better options.

WetalkinboutpracticeParticipantPoint guard is probably the most over saturated position in the league today so there aren’t really too many teams out there with a need for a staring one so who knows. Truly thought he was going to end up in Dallas for sure, then they went out & picked up D-Will. As a Knicks fan I’d love to have him despite the restrictions of the triangle, but of course they lack the necessary assets to swing that deal.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI think part of the reason Houston didn’t draft a pg was because they knew Lawson might be available. As much as i like beverlys d and toughness, i dont think he gives you enough offensively as a starting pg. They have the assets to pull off a trade and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them move on Lawson.

HitsterParticipantAs I’ve been posting about Philly’s PG status on another posting and reading tjhe ideas above, Just wondered if something like Lawson to Knicks, Calderon to Philly and Philly sends one of their first rounders due to Denver probably one via Miami or Thunder,
The Knicks upgrade their PG, they move Calderon to Philly were he can run the point for a couple of years/mentor any young PG they may acquire. Denver clear $25 million in cap and get an addition 2016 first rounder.

thepointgawdParticipantLawson will not goto Philadelphia. He does not fit the culture.
Also, bad move for him. The way he carries himself it would not be a good idea to put him in Philadelphia, aka J.R. Smith in New York.
Also take in consideration, that Ty Lawson has to start. Don’t think he’ll settle with anything else.
Anyway Lawson, will end up:
- Brooklyn: Need a starting point guard
- Houston: Make decide to upgrade that PG position, but maybe not as Harden is the primary ball-handler
- New Orleans: When is Jrue Holiday ever healthy?
- Phoenix: You kow they love running a 3 guard offense

cryan03ParticipantI think Indiana could be another sleeper team for Ty Lawson. I think he could be a good fit, they are trying to play faster. I think George Hill is better suited to be a scoring combo guard off the bench.

festar35ParticipantThe Pacers are set with their guard rotation of Hill, Ellis, Stuckey, Miles and Young. If they sign another it’ll be a cheap back-up PG not a PG worth $13mil.

OhCanada-ParticipantI could definitely see New York or Boston make a serious pitch. The Knicks may not want to wait on Porzingis and he could provide good value as a high potential piece to a trade. Boston has an overload of young talent and future assets and Denver has always been big on depth, development and team basketball.

hair of the barnesParticipantYeah I was thinking Knicks would be a good destination. But Denver gets to switch picks with the Knicks. Do you think that this would hinder a trade, as Denver probably would want the Knicks to do as poorly as possible?

jaycee24ParticipantBurks + a pick wouldn’t be a haul but he’d be able to start and play on a pretty affordable 9-10 mill contract. Id take that at this point not sure how that’d work for Utah but it works on paper imo

BigChamp12ParticipantWho would Houston give up to get Lawson? Im pretty sure a pick or 2 would be involved. My guess is that Terrance Jones would be included if they’re re-signing Josh Smith. However, think Lawson is a definite upgrade over Beverly whose value rises as a backup PG.
