Both are hypothetical but interesting in my opinion

    1. What if Pau Gasol was not traded to the Lakers in 2008? Who would have won the 2008 and 2009 finals and who would be playing in the finals right now?

    2. What if the NBA had no salary cap and no luxury tax. What kind of contract would a team offer LeBron James?

    1. Lakers, same outcome.

    2. Lebron’s contract would be similar to A-Rod’s when he signed with Texas 10yr/$252mil

you think the lakers would still have won the finals or even went to the finals? They went 42-40 the year before Gasol arrived. The lakers were a 1st round exit team before Gasol came along. Gasol is the most talented big man in the game

If the Lakers didn’t do some other ridiculous trade then their is no way they win either last year or this year.

I think Lebron would get 25-30 million a year.

With the new Nets owner and Cuban could you imagine the bidding war they would have for lebron maybe 5 year 200 million? They each have all the money to blow.

The Lakers getting Gasol became a necessary option when Bynum went down. Also Marc Gasol is a beast. Think about it, if Bynum does not go down and Marc Gasol become the player he is, then Lakers would be in the same situation cept Odom would have a bigger role starting next to Bynum and Gasol, Marc that is would be coming off the bench.

Memphis did not make a terrible move if you look at where they are now. They got more young pieces and with Pau Gasol they were not going anywhere.

He is better as a 2nd option and not a first option at least not when he was in Memphis plus that team was not very good.

Marc Gasol is a good player and very talented but his brother has all the talent in the world. Outside of maybe Dirk, Pau Gasol is the best big man in the game of basketball.
