JNixonParticipantJ’Covan Brown is inefficient, wild, and not a true PG, that’s why he doesn’t play over Balbay. Despite the limitations Balbay has on offense. Balbay isn’t very good, but he plays scrappy on-ball D and he can make plays for others in the lane without being TO prone. I’d rather him run my offense than a 6’2 SG like Brown. Especially in important moments of a game.
Tristan THompson reminds me alot of Amir Johnson. He’s long and athletic, mobile and he plays with a nice motor. He’s not a wide body, but he can rebound well and he is very active on D, especially on weakside D.

lakanoParticipantI think Jacovan Brown could be a decent player but he plays like a NUT … and this may sound dumb but why does he have a gut playing the guard position that just makes me question his work ethic
ditto on Tristan Thompson

mattholdenbrownParticipantyea but id rather have brown than balbay who cant shoot and has been reckless tonite with fouls and turnovers and thompson needs to work on free throws badly

JNixonParticipant"and this may sound dumb but why does he have a gut playing the guard position that just makes me question his work ethic"
Those are legit questions. I’m don’t think Brown is in great conditioning either. He also shows shaky body language on the court too, and a generally low basketball IQ.

JNixonParticipantBalbay looks WAY better running an offense than Brown does. And I doubt that’ll ever change.

Toronto16ParticipantCorey Joseph looks like he feeling pain. He keeps wincing after every play and stretching out his legs. Could be a cop out for his poor play, but still.

BiggysmallsParticipantTristan Thompson was a stud for them tonight. Monster on weakside defense, also didnt really let Mike Davis get going at all. Offensively showed some nice polish on the low block and nice ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the hoop, and the FT line :/

RUDEBOY_Participantif thompson can work on his shot..he might be a lottery pick next summer..but right now he shoots a flat shot…My brother says Thompson plays like former Villanova forward Ed Pinkney….I hope he sticks around another year and try to work on his shooting mechanics..
Thompson free throw shooting is so bad i bet Ben Wallace & Shaq can offer him advice…

hiphopismylifeParticipantThompson is waaaaayyyy more advanced than I thought he was coming out. This guy was once ranked number 1 in the 2010 class and I just didnt see it. Every time I had watched him before his entire game was about getting all the way to the rim or bust….And u guys are right. Dogus Balbay is horribly limited at the offensive end, but he will always play hard and stay within the confines of what a coach wants. J’Covan is a more productive scorer but is a player that can shoot you in and out of games. He is best suited to be a spark kind of player, not a full time pg for a team looking to compete for a conference crown.
