gatorheelsParticipantExplanations-
Trade 1- Hawks seem to be missing a true starting Center. Grizzlies need a PF for the future.
Trade 2- Charlotte gets an upgrade at SG which they desperately need & a lot of cap relief after this season. Rockets get future draft picks & much needed size in the post especially at the C position. Houston would still get a lot of cap relief, it would just be in 2011 not 2010.
Trade 3- Bulls get a much needed veteran low post presence & this saves them some cash after the season. Clippers could use a 1st round pick to continue to build a very strong young team while getting a player with experience who provides much needed quality depth at PG/SG.
Trade 4- Obviously the Hornets get the starting caliber SG that Chris Paul needs beside him while the Pistons get some financial relief while adding a future 1st rounder.

xbadgerhustlerParticipantare any of those being discussed (specific trades or just players on the block)? or are u just imagining? just wondering if those are really possibilities…

d-grizzlyParticipanti like the idea of horford landing memphis…where he should have been..instead of conely.
only problem is thabeet is no way ready to start at center and randolph’s at the 4.
i do think a PF of the future should have been the plan this year…looks like the grizz will
wait until next years draft.0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/06/2009 - 7:54am #196873

bballdave3ParticipantI think if the bulls are trading for a big man, they’re gonna want a big man who provides solid scoring in the post with good back to the basket moves, Camby is a great defender with an ugly but effective midrange shot, I would think the Bulls would look for a better scorer on the block.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantHow about Josh Howard for Kevin Martin…
SAC has long coveted Howard, and he would give them big time cap relief for the 2010 summer, or the could pick up his option and let him walk in 2011, they could use that money to sign another FA, or make an uneven trade(more likely) to further build their team.
Dallas would be a great fit for Martin, with Dirk on his team, he’d never be doubled, and having Jason Kidd as his PG his scoring could skyrocket. He would also take a lot of pressure off Dirk, becuase though Howard is a good scorer, he’s inconsistent, and disappears for long stretches.
What do you guys think?

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantGood trade ideas. They all look realistic.

Tha King2121Participantgatorheels why did u get -8 points for this post
or anyone why give negitive points for random ideas?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/06/2009 - 2:26pm #197018
gatorheelsParticipantxbadger- I am just imagining
bballdave- The main point of the trade is that this saves the Bulls a lot of cash after the season because Camby has an expiring contract. This gives the Bulls quite a bit of money to spend in the 2010 free agent market. Camby isn’t the greatest scorer but he would help the Bulls out a lot in the post.
jkwon- i like that trade especially if the Kings plan on using Tyreke as a SG
The way I see it if you give somebody a negative point for a post then that means you disagree with what they said. I don’t really care about the points but it is pretty weak & lame when I have -6 points for this post when most people like the trade ideas. I smell some haters. If you want to give me a negative point thats cool but at least post what you disagree with. If you don’t like trades then just dont bother clicking on this post & reading it in the first place.

McWinningParticipantif the Hrnets could get Hamilton that easily that would be sick.

gatorheelsParticipantI think the Hornets could get Rip that easy…I really do. That trade offers a lot of value to the Pistons…it saves them quite a bit of money, give them a 1st round pick, & they still would have plenty of depth at SG

McWinningParticipantyeah but i think what they really need is another big man where they are really weak.

gatorheelsParticipantI agree birdzilla. Hornets just don’t have any big men that they can spare. If that trade went down then probably Detroit would trade Prince & an expiring contract or two for a big man.

McWinningParticipanti think the only way Hamilton would be traded is for a decent big mAN AND A SHOOTING GUARD. they showed their not rebuilding by signing huge deals so i dont think they would want draft picks.

marcusfizer21ParticipantT-Mac to Bobcats? Rip to Hornets? I mean, that would be sort of blockbuster in a lot of sense… I mean, it’s definitely time for T-Mac to move on with a new home… But then again, the team they would land would be giving a lot of roster spots… Ahmmm, I am not so keen on the Camby-Hinrich trade… I think Kirk is a big asset more than most guys think, an unerrated defender, so pesky and annoying if you are the one being guarded… Camby is a terrific shot-blocker but what they need is a center that has an offensive game, Kaman would be a logical choice but NO…too injury prone… But overall, those are awesome and interesting deals that could happen… I am giving it a 45% chance that 2 of the 3 possible trades amde by gatorheels would happen…
