Hear me out. I got to thinking after reading some articles this morning…

So Sacramento wants to move up to #1
Paul George wants out of Indy
Boston wants an established star, not a stockpile of picks and prospects

I’m not a fan of any of these teams (Raptors actually) but I think this could make sense with some massaging.

Boston trades #1 overall, Avery Bradley, Tyler Zeller to Indiana for Paul George (works in trade machine) and throw-ins to sweeten deal (future picks?)

Indiana trades #1 to Sacramento for #5 and #10

    Sacramento drafts Fultz

    Indiana drafts Tatum/Isaac @ #5 and Collins/Markkanen @ 10

    Thoughts?

Because Indiana would be in a rebuild after letting PG go, I don’t think they would pass up on the type of potential Fultz is being praised for. They’d probably rather get Fultz and demand more from the C’s (I think C’s get Brooklyn’s pick next year too).

    Thanks for the negs

So much better than constructive criticism

    Sarcasm…

I don’t think Indiana would require a complete rebuild

George only has one year. Unless he signed a new deal before the draft no way the celts trade Fultz for George. Another reason they never do the deal is this destroys are cap room. I love George but I would much rather have Fultz and the Chance to sign Heyward, Griffin or Milsap then PG13 for a year.

2k trades like this almost never happen in real life.

That being said, it makes no sense for the Celtics to trade all of these great assets they have (#1 pick, Bradley, etc.) for George when he will be a free agent next summer. Like someone said above, they would be better off outright signing someone like Hayward/Millsap/Griffin and keeping their pick instead of taking on a possible 1-year rental. They also have guys like Zizic and Yabusele possibly coming over this summer, as well. They don’t need to compromise their assets for such a short-term fix– a fix that probably won’t give them a significant edge over Cleveland or Golden State
