Bleacher Report said their was a discussion about the Kings trading Rudy Gay, Ben McLemore, and Koufos to the Lakers for Roy Hibbert, Lou Williams, and Larry Nance. I don’t think so. Maybe the Lakers proposed that. 1) The Kings wouldn’t pay that much 2) Roy Hibbert isn’t the run and gun type that George Karl likes 3) Why do they keep talking about trading Gay anyway 4) The Lakers don’t want Gay. They’d accidentally win.

I thought this might work instead…

Kings get: Lou Williams (from Lakers), Roy Hibbert (from Lakers), Larry Nance (from Lakers)

Pelicans get: Rudy Gay (from Sacramento)

Lakers get: Ben McLemore (from Kings), 1st draft pick (from Pelicans), Caron Butler/Moreland/Curry/Anderson (all Kings), Noris Cole/Pondexter/Gee/Babbit (all Pelicans)

It’s a bit convoluted, but Trade Machine gives the Kings 3 more wins, the Pelicans 5 more wins, and Lakers get McLemore and a pick (likely 9th-12th since Pelicans are on the rise). The only issue is the Kings get back 3 players while sending out 6, but other than Gay and McLemore none are rotation guys. Pelicans would lose 4 players to get 1, but only Noris Cole is in the rotation.  The real problem would be for the Lakers. They get 9 players and send only 3 out. Also, only Cole is a one year contract. Pondexter is on 3 years. They’d have to keep him. Everyone else is on a 2 year contract. They’d have drop a bunch of guys and eat 6 million. Next year. But really, who are they going to sign anyway. They should just take the assets.

If the Kings do that move (Gay, B-Mac, Koufos for Lou, Nance and Hibbert) they will solidify themselves as the most poorly managed franchise in the history of the NBA.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a trade (or someone’s trade proposal) where one team trades 3 players and gets 9 back… Other than that the trade makes absolutely no sense for the Pelicans, or Kings.

The Kings are going to give up the player with probably the most upside in the trade (B-Mac), and Gay for Hibbert, Lou and Nance?? And the Pelicans who are currently in the lottery are going to give up a 1st round pick for Gay, who probably will not put them over the hump to make the playoffs in the west AND give up 4 other guys who they will probably then have to replace with d-league players?

Because neither the Lakers nor their fans want Rudy Gay.

I don’t think Bleacher report has any plugged in journalists.  They are mostly bloggers.  Anything that comes from Bleacher Report I don’t think should be considered even a Rumor.  It is strictly click bait, produced to draw advertising money.

When WOJ reports a "rumor" then it’s true.  When Bleacher Report reports a "rumor", they just want your click.

Lol if you think Bleacher report is a place for credible news/rumors, no wonder so many people are so stupid. It’s no different than this site, a place for people to share opionions and speculate without any credentials.

Bleacher Report, they have less information and inside scoops than the people here on the message board.

That trade idea they had, Kings giving away three useful players for nothing but a few Lou Williams outside shots, not a good idea.
