Pistons receive Joakim Noah and Jimmy Butler(or Snell either one works) and the Bulls get Greg Monroe, Will Bynum and Luigi Datome.
The pistons get another defensive anchor in Noah and will play alongside Drummond and gives them defensive anchor that fit their style. Which will benefit Drummond by keeping him out of foul trouble. From a leader point of view it gives them another leader in the lockeroom. The pistons can play with two center so it wouldn’t be an issue of having noah and drummond start together because both are mobile. From an offense standpoint monroe will be missed, however josh smith is currently their no.1 option on offense (as of late) and will go through him. But Noah does have a few post up moves, but not like monroe. As for Butler(or Snell), the have another perimeter defensive player who has all around skills, and can shoot the three. The pistons lineup could be:
Jennings
Butler(or Snell)
Smith
Noah
Drummond
From the bulls standpoint, this gives them a stable (non injury prone) Center who they can build around. To be honest the bulls are not going anywhere without derrick rose. But with monroe they can at least make the playoffs this season(6,7, or 8th seed) and Monroe would pair well with Boozer or Gibson (preferebly Gibson). The Bulls will take a hit defensively, but Gibson is well enough to handle the mobile bigs (and Nazr M. off the bench can help too). Also, monroe, Boozer/Gibson could be a great inside/outside combo. With Bynum, he gets sent back home where he could actually have the same role as nate robinson last season. He obviously isn’t favored by Cheeks, so he would fit well in Chicago because he is an explosive guard who can get into the lane and dish. The Bulls have enough three point threats (Deng, Snell(or butler), Hinrich) so he wouldn’t be much of threat outside. And Datome provides sharpshooting. If all fails the bulls have cap space in the off season. So they can sign a max player. If all goes well they have Derrick Rose, Deng, Monroe to build around which is a great core to have for any team.
Their lineup could be:
Hinrich
Snell(or Butler)
Deng
Boozer (gibson)
Monroe

theEDGEParticipantIf Bulls deal a big it will be Boozer, but I doubt there will be much interest in him.
Butler isn’t going anywhere soon.
plus Bulls would give up 2 starters for Monroe.
Noah does fit perfectly in Thibs defensive playing Bulls, as does Butler.
Datome could be a Korver like presence.
Bulls already satisfied with Augustins play, so Bynum is not needed.

JordanC20ParticipantI think Jimmy Butler will be an all star some day I definitely wouldn’t let him go with his potential.

FearTheStacheParticipantWouldn’t Noah and Drummond be kind of redundant? Both motor-heavy, defensive minded centers who can’t really shoot beyond 10 feet.

Jester87ParticipantActually I like Noah-Drummond more than Monroe-Drummond. Noah can make up for Drummond’s lack of experience and consequent mistakes on D, while the two man lineup Monroe-Drummond has been terrible on that end of the ball this far, especially against the pick and roll (the Pistons are allowing opponents to score almost 108 points per 100 possessions on an outstanding 48.8% with those two playing together). Also on offense Monroe plays a lot with his back to the basket and he’s more of a lane clogger, even though Noah is a bad shooter, he plays a lot on the elbow, on top of the key.

Mr. ChicagoParticipantThat is a terrible trade for the Bulls – they are giving up an All Star/All NBA Defense First-Team Center and a building block for the for the franchise for Greg Monroe (Who I actually really like and think can become a very effective player), a player they do not need (Will Bynum), and a huge project/wildcard.
I just think the price tag is way to high for the Bulls. They are giving up two starters for esentially a starter and thwoaways. Not a good trade for the Bulls.
The only two players I can see being dealt by the Bulls are Deng (which they say they will not do) or Boozer (Who I am not sure who trade for him – but Bargani got traded – so I can hold out hope).

Scott42444ParticipantHow long is Monroe under contract, for? He’s a free agent after this year. Noah is an all-star center and (with Rose’s injury) the Bulls beat player. He isnot just their best defender, but also a significant contributed to their offense. Since you say, throw in Butler or Snell, as if they are equal players, to match up salaries and have the Pistons sending back garbage I believe youhaven’t watched any Bulls games. If the Pistons throw in a top 10 pick in this year’s draft, the Bulls still wouldn’t do it but if it were Top 5 I would be all for it. Do you ever wonder how the Bulls can have a roster without Deng our Rose and play against the Heat in the playoffs?

Sharp ShooterParticipantActually I do watch the bulls game and you are serisouly over valuing Noah…Yes, he WAS an All star but the past few season he has not. You’re right, Monroe is not an all star however he will be one eventually. Right now monroe is avg 15 and 9 and Noah avg/ 10 and 9…not really all star stats to me.

Jester87ParticipantYup but Monroe is a human turnstile on D, while Noah is a great defender. You just can’t measure what Noah does on a basketball court with ppg or rpg numbers.
