Prozingiz and Calderon for Hezonja and Harris(s&t) – magic very dissepointed for losing out on perfect fit prozingiz on draft day so with this trade they redeem themselves, knicks get two great pieces, Harris who they high on and Hazonja who can replace Tim hardway jr as a shooter and creat one hell talanted athletic backcourt for the future with Grant jr…

I don’t think either side would pull the trigger on this without at least a few months of watching their respective Euros play and see how they fit in the system and how developed they are

In my mock, I had Hezonja going to the Magic, and think that that was the pick all along. Most people thought that Porzingis was the best fit, but in reality it was Hezonja, and here’s why:

-Magic need shooting, more so than most teams in the league, and they need a player who can run with their backcourt. Hezonja fits in perfectly with this idea, and was arguably the best shooter in this draft.

    – The Magic just spent the 4th pick last year on a player who they think can be a star at the 4 spor. Gordon is not a 3, and the Magic played his at th power foward spot for 66% of his total minutes last year. Clearly they see him as a project player, or else they would have taken Randle last year, and wouldn’t stunt his growth by drafting another PF. Magic are to early into the rebuild to just give up on a #4 pick like that.

-Magic needed someone who could create their own shot. Anyone who watched the Magic last year will tell you that besides Olidipo, the only player on their team that could create offense of the dribble…was Willie Green. Let that sink in for a minute…Obviously they needed to draft a player who could turn into a go to scorer.

    – Lastly, the Magic have been desperately trying to find thier SF of the future for years now. They thought they had it in Harkless, but he fizzled out, and then they found it in Harris, but his future with the team is up in the air right now. If he left, and they drafted Porzingis, then they would be in a tough bind right now.

I think the Magic would laugh at this deal and just hang up the phone. They are giving up the best player in the deal (Harris), AND they are picking up Calderon’s horrible contract? Just to swap Hezonja for Porzingis? Give me a break, I just don’t see that even as a realistic trade.
