A sign and trade idea. Jazz sign and trade gordon hayward to minnesota for pekovic. Considering that kanter hasn’t exactly panned out,  pek could fill the Jefferson role and be a terrific compliment to favors. Hayward can hope to get a more stable role in minnesota.

Kanter and pek are kinda the same player, both use size over athleticism. Not going to rim protect. Solid post players and rebounders but not much other than that. At least kanter is still young and growing. He might surpass peak down the road or maybe he wont

But the idea is pek is capable right now to put up boarder line all star numbers. Maybe kanter turns out to be really good. He has the potential. But pek is hitting his peak averaging 18 and 8 playing with a superstar. Consider what he could do if he was the main cog in an offense. He would help make Utah turnaround much quicker that waiting for kanter to get to pek’s level

Not a good idea. Utah believes Derrick Favors is the center of the future for them. Pair him with Noah Vonleh with Kanter off the bench and you have a nice trio of young bigs.

god thats awful. I dont know where to start. First off- court spacing wpuld be shot. Second- would hinder the development of kanter and gobert. Third- they couldn’t defend the majority of 4s in the league between them. 5 would leave a massive shot creating hole on the wing.

In short, there is nothing good about this trade (from utah’s perspective) whatsoever.

Gordon Hayward’s going nowhere folks – he’ll likely get a similar deal to Favors 5/50….  Regarding Utah’s bigs,  I think what people neglect to mention is that

    1) Enes Kanter is a very skilled shooter who can shoot FTs and is good under the rim for a young big but lacks toughness and defensive skills which he can develope as he gets older.  Yes, at times  he’s clearly a liability defensively, however he’s only 21 years old and put up 12/8 in 26min per last year…  He needs to add more weight and get tougher as he matures if he’s going to be an impact player F/C.  He surely has a shooters touch.

    2) I think most people know what Utah’s got when evaluating Derrick Favors – a skilled F/Center who can rebound, score and play D and is crucial to growing Utah’s future success.  Favors is tough, can clog the paint and has a nice touch, last year puttig up a career best 13/9 in 30 min per game.  At 23 he’s a bull who’s still improving.

    3) Noah Vonleh is very different than both Kantor and Favors in that he’s more in the mold of a Chris Bosh who can really stretch the floor as well play in the post with a soft touch and with an incredible 7 4" wingspan.  Having all 3 down the road when Vonleh really develops will be an absolute luxary for Utah.  Vonleh is even athletic enough to even play the 3 (a la Chris Bosh), so you could even see all 3 on the court together with Hayward/Burks and a PG..

Utah has drafted as good or better than any team over the last few years – Burks, Hayward, Kantor, Burke and this year’s pick (Vonleh, Parker or Exum) and they’re just 1 piece in a stud PG from really putting it all together.

As a Jazz fan I love our young team but we do need an alpha player/scorer, Kanter’s D is poor but with experience should get much better, IMO the key to Kanter playing with Favors and making it a big positive is his making the move (hopefully this yr) to shooting the 3, that is one of the things he was going to be working on this off season, Okur was to help him. Draft pick wise I know Vonleh is a talent and I’d be OK with him but I really like Gordon, he is showing signs that his shot is improving a lot and that is his only real negative, otherwise Gordon brings more of what we need, great athlete, good defender that can defend multiple positions, good rebounder , good passer, good handles, active, good motor, strong work ethic, can play both 3 & 4 (especially if the shot is fixed) , it may be a bit of a risk but I think he is determined to make his shot a positive and the fact he does so many things well is what we need. I’d like us to look at Clarkson, RGIII or Warren at 23 and Thanasis at 35.

look, they need more defensive versatility at the forward position, Someone who is unquestionably a four. the fact Gordon has potential at the three makes this a no-brainer in my opinion. I have a good feeling, given the right offer, that they’ll move Kanter, And give Rudy G OB ERT chance to develop.

You can’t trade a restricted free agent for a fringe all star caliber player like Pekovic, who’s under contract for 4 more years.  The value in this trade idea is completely out of whack.

A sign and trade for Hayward + Kanter would be more along the lines of what it would take to pry Pek from Minny.  But even still I doubt that Minny wants to get younger at this point.
