kingofbumsParticipanti dont usually post these kind of things but i think this is pretty realistic…
with lowry back for the raptors now and their need for a decent sf who can shoot and score…calderon has got to go. he doesnt like being a backup pg and in addition to that…the raps playing both lowry and calderon in crunch time just isnt working out because of calderon shiitty def. also now that valanciunas has shown to be a good player already…we have way too many bigs…with kleiza(who can play the pf sometimes), overpaid amir in which no one will take his contract, JV, bargs and ed davis. out of all of them davis has the most trade value and is prob the player we would be willing to give up.
so the trade idea would be…
To Indiana
calderon and ed davis
To raptors
danny granger
the pacers thought that DJ was going to be a good backup pg for them but it isnt working out. also george hill has the ability to play the two spot and starting calderon with him will allow hill to focus on more scoring. calderon will be able to play the P&R with west really well because of west’s ability to fade and spread the court.
for the raptors, i think this is a guy they desperately need who can provide some kind of scoring option late in the game in which they are horrible in and puts less pressure on DD and bargs to create.
what do you guys think about this trade? what do you think the raps should do with calderon and ed davis seeing how they arent really using him anyway?

For_Never_EverParticipantThe Pacers would need more than that to give up a player of Danny Grannger caliber. Terrence Ross definitely would have to be included and a draft pick.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantSeriously all of that for a former Allstar who has been declining for the last 3 years? Come on man and his contract is not cap friendly

For_Never_EverParticipantI think his contract is over next year. I would rather have him over Joe Johnson and his contract anyday. He is still under 30 years old, this is also his first time being out for major time too.

David Stern a.k.a. da muthaf@cking leader of da kryptsParticipantThe Raptors would need to give up more. Put a package around Calderon and Davis, maybe add one of their young players and a draft pick and it might work out. This is actually a pretty good trade in my opinion.

Brew Meister SmithParticipantI am never big on the idea of trading Calderon (even though many think it has to happen). In this case they would definately be getting the most they could get for him so I would like this deal. I agree with others here though and believe they would have to give up a little more. You can throw in either Allan Anderson or Landry Fields to give them a SF back. I would try to hold on to Ross if at all possible. Their pick next year is likely already gone, so I would not like to see another first rounder in there, but they might have to.

mj23mj23besteverParticipantdd is the sf of the future in toronto so why do they raps need too trade for a sf?i understand wanting too trade jose but imo the raps would be better off trying too get a pick in exchange for him a future line up of lowry at the 1 ross at the 2 dd at the 3 bargs at the 4 and jonas at the 5 isnt bad

kingofbumsParticipantbro, derozan will never and can never play the 3…i shouldnt even need to explain the reasons why so i wont waste my time lmao…
just watch last nights game against the bobcats where he was manhandled by MKG and jeff taylor…and those were two rookie sfs imagine what the avg sf would do to him…that post up game he has will go straight to the dumpster against those guys

Mr. 19134ParticipantMKG and Jeff Taylor though are 2 guys who are just as athletic as Demar, stronger, and are known for their defense. Derozan does still need to add a few pounds but I also think SF might be his best long term position considering he likes posting up and doesn’t have great range on his jump shot. The Raptors are going to be much better off molding a guy like Ross to take over at SG because he can stretch the floor and curl off screens giving Demar space to operate in the midrange area.
The one thing Demar lacks tho for a SF is rebounding tho. I don’t think he’s ever going to be a good defender however because he doesn’t have the instincts or the lateral quickness.

festar35ParticipantI would love to see Calderon in the Pacers!! The trade I keep coming up with is Granger and Augustin (expiring contract) for Calderon, Ross and Davis.
