I am a huge fan of both the Suns and the Thunder. The Suns future looks absolutely horrible. They have to trade Nash for some younger talent, they just have too. There really isnt any future to this team. It’s no secret the Thunder need a big man and Suns recently acquired Gortat. What do you guys think about a Gortat/Green swap? The suns NEED somebody to build around and Jeff Green is a good player and needs to be playing the SF position. Gortat would immediately solve the needs of the lack of a true center for the Thunder. Jeff Green is also looking to get paid this offseason and the Thunder can afford him but they wont have much more for anything else and Gortat is already locked into his pretty decent contract.

I think playing Green at the 4 wouldn’t be smart for PHX. They already have a weak front court and Green has a hard time matching up with the elite PFs of the league. If you wanted to play him at the 3, then it would be smart but look at all the Wings that the Suns have: G. Hill, Childress, Dudley, Pietrus.. that doesn’t leave much playing time either.

Good for the Suns but not good for the Thunder. I agree that the Thunder need a center but Gortat is about the most overrated player on this site. If he is so good then why didn’t Orlando start him when they had him. Because they had Dwight, you say, well they could have started Gortat at the 4. The Magic have always always struggled with the 4, so if he’s so good then clearly he could switch over to the 4 and play well there too. When Dwight was out with injury and Gortat started, he did quite well. But that doesn’t mean anything. The player above him is injured, he’s supposed to play well. It’s called "making up for an absence." And look what he’s doing away from Dwight: 7.82 pts 5.45rbs and 1.1 blks, not exactly great numbers. He only started 1 of those 11 games since being traded to the Suns. He’s been getting increased playing time since becoming a Sun but not much to show for it. If he’s the player that most people on this site believe him to be then he would be starting over Lopez and be averaging a double double every game. He’s not anywhere close to doing that. He hasn’t even gotten over 10 boards with the Suns yet. And he’s only reached the "10 pts or more plateau" just 5 times out of the 11 games. Still not what most people on here expect. If the Thunder want Gortat for Green then they are really lowering their expectations. This is someone who has the potential of Lamar Odom and you’re trading him for a backup on the Suns? Something does not quite fit. 

If you ask me the Thunder should try and sign Greg Oden from the Blazers in the offseason and then just let Green sign with which ever team he chooses. Either that or trade him to the Sixers for Marreese Speights, but I have my doubts about Speights too.

ehh, i dont know about that trade.  i think Jeff Green is a great player, but maybe not for the suns. As I May Be Wrong said, the suns have too many wings.  If anything the suns need a GOOD big man. And if they are going to trade Nash they MUST get a solid pg in return.

Phoenix is a team in the league right now who is probably #1 as far as having the deepest wings on there squad.

Phoenix really needs a PG, that should be their #1 priority when it comes to acquisitions.

you know whats funny about this swap? Gortat is one of the few big men the suns do have and the swap doesnt have much effect on Jeff Green because he wouldnt be playing his natural position at the 3 on a very undersized phoenix team, but i think OKC fumbled the ball when Minnesota was shopping Kevin Love and Al Jefferson last yr. Minny was desperate for a young talented SF and werent as high on Love as they are now and Jefferson is on the Jazz
