ShekiruBoomParticipantWho you guys got for that one player who bursts out of the scene in march to boost their nba stocks? im talking like Derrick Rose, Mike Conley, Steph Curry.
Drose wasnt seriously being considered for the number 1 pick before march madness set in (that belonged to beasley) but he busted everyones ass in the tourney except for mario chalmers and went on to be number 1 pick
Mike Conley was just a sidekick to Greg Oden until his big tourney and went on to be number 4 pick
Steph Curry was a relatively unknown until he came on the scene during the tourney and started whooping all the big name schools and went on to be seventh pick
So who you boys got?

Future_ScoutPJ… not perry jones…pierre jackson
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:05pm #644501
DanEboyParticipantRose was most likely going to be the number one pick anyway.
I am going with, umm, let me see….oh yeah, Jae Crowder!
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:09pm #644502
NotHamedHaddadiParticipantDamian Lillard should come up big if Weber State gets a decent seed
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:09pm #644504
DanEboyParticipantAlthough, if you are talking about high projected guys who still have some questions about them, then I am going with Barnes. If he takes UNC deep, and has some great games, I think teams will be more confident in taking him so high.

surveParticipantI remember Tyrus Thomas and Antonio McDyess were flying under the radar as well, then their tourny play propelled them to the top of the draft.
Usually, its going to be someone who wows you with their athleticism. Kinda like Westbrook. Steph was one of the exceptions because he could flat out score.
This year, I would like Mo Harkless but they wont be in the tourney. So I will go with Mike Moser and if NC State gets in and have a good run, CJ Leslie.

ShekiruBoomParticipantpersonally i hate pierre jackson who knows what perry jones and quincy miller can do if they had the ball more in their hands instead never touching the ball thanks to their "pg" pierre jackson. like ok he did score 35 against iowa state the other day and kept them in the game but something in me tells me Perry jones and quincy miller can outproduce that if they were given more shots since they are clearly more talented
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:18pm #644510
Future_Scouti love it when people blame pierre for pj3’s struggles. dude i’ve seen the games, pj3 takes a back seat to pierre
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:19pm #644511
river09ParticipantIf washington makes it, I’m looking for Terrence Ross to build on his showing from last year. That backcourt of him and wroten could show up to play. Brandon Paul out of illinois has proven his scoring ability. I like the damian lillard idea too, I hope weber makes the tourney.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:19pm #644512
Chilbert arenasParticipantMarquise Teague’s stock has been slipping and could really boost it in the tourney if he shows out, we all know the tournament is all about guard play. (Just kidding just wanted to use that cliche)
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:28pm #644516
FearTheStacheParticipantJeremy Lamb. Freak athlete, great defender, great scorer. Last year, he completely turned it up for tournament time. Today, he had 25, 5, and 4. He could be dangerous
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:28pm #644515
The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipanthe’s clearly a super talented kid that does not get as many touches as he should at the college level, having a shoot first “point” has a very big reason has to why Jones hasn’t looked like a flat out stud…let me ask you this “Future Scout”
what prospect do you like the most in this draft??? because I can assure you he has any many flaws as PJ3 right now, and he likely doesn’t have PJ3’s potential to make up for it…
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:31pm #644519
Future_Scoutoutta uconn i would say boatright. lamb is already top 10 everywhere, and top 5 in bucha mocks
and drummond can loose his #2 spot
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:33pm #644520
ShekiruBoomParticipanti ain’t hatin pierre jackson man i just think for baylor to be a realistic contender, PJ3 has to be at his best and I dont think Pierre Jackson is a good pg to help PJ3 reach his potential since he clearly takes the most touches on the team even though he clearly shouldn’t as well. i wouldnt mind him if he took the most shots but was talented to carry the team but hes just taking the shots away from PJ3 who is talented to carry the team
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:33pm #644522
Demarcus OnealParticipantI think Teague has the tools to be the best NBA prospect on the Kentucky team
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:41pm #644525
Future_Scoutlet me ask you this "Future Scout"
what prospect do you like the most in this draft??? because I can assure you he has any many flaws as PJ3 right now, and he likely doesn’t have PJ3’s potential to make up for it…
anthony davis i like the most obviously.
then jeremy lamb, here you got a 6’6 sg with a sickening 7’2-7’4 wingspan. (who i had to start a thread to find out weaknesses about!) got pretty much no weakness other than forcing the shot a bit, passing is average (tho i’ve seen him make good passes), and the weight issue which he has improved a lot. and supposedly doesn’t like contact despite attempting 3.6 FT. this kid can shoot it from anywhere, anyhow… off the dribble, catch n shoot, turnarounds etc….shows good handles and looks like a for sure go0to guy in the future, not much to dislike

Future_Scout"i wouldnt mind him if he took the most shots but was talented to carry the team but hes just taking the shots away from PJ3 who is talented to carry the team"
he doesn’t "take shots away" from pj3 man, perry jones averages as much shots as he wants… i’ve pj3 pass up open jumpshots on a pick and pop to give back to pierre
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 1:46pm #644531
FastAndFuriousParticipantI think Teague stock has been rising dude really sucked at the beginning of the year, he’s playing decent now.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 2:35pm #644561
F_DA_POParticipantI wanna see Washington make a run. I haven’t seen Tony Wroten play, but from what I’ve heard I feel he can be a breakout player. Also, I think this is time for Drummond to finally prove himself. Would like to see Florida make a run and see if Beal steps up on the big stage.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 2:38pm #644563
Future_Scoutyup^. i also wanna see memphis, with barton and adonis thomas
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 2:39pm #644565
HaleParticipantIsn’t Thomas done for the year? I hope Memphis gets a favorable 1st round matchup.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 2:41pm #644568
FearTheStacheParticipantMy dream scenario would be for UCONN to go on a run and win the Big East, and continue to run in the tournament. Then, at some point, they play Kentucky, with Drummond and Davis battling for the #1 pick.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 2:42pm #644569
Future_Scoutdamn that’s right, i forgot, no wonder i haven’t heard from him
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 2:47pm #644573
BiggysmallsParticipantJeff Taylor could makea name for himself on a national level if Vandy can finally get out of the first round. I think they have a legit shot at getting the Sweet 16 and maybe the Elite 8 if they are a 6 or 7 seed
Reggie Bullock is a guy who has flown under the radar for UNC. IF UNC gets to where they want to go and should be able to go, Bullock is going to be a big factor. Everyone knows about Barnes, Zeller, Henson and Marshall, but Bullock will be needed to provide a scoring punch somewhere in the tourney. A big March could boost his stock big time
Jeff Whithey is a darkhorse one to an extent for me. If Kansas is going anywhere, Whithey is going to have to be a force and also provide some O for Kansas. Being a true 7 footer will automatically get him recognition, but if he plays well he could take a massive leap on draft boards.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 2:52pm #644578
scbe2223ParticipantI think it’s Barton from Memphis as I think Memphis will make a decent run. He is an absolute Baller and I can’t understand why he doesn’t get more national recognition anyway.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 3:08pm #644587
jeff416ParticipantAdonis Thomas will be returning in the C-USA tournament. He has already been cleared by the doctors. It was originally thought he would be out for the year though.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 3:09pm #644588
HaleParticipantAwesome, hopefully the good Memphis shows up in the tourney then. They can be really good when they’re on.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 3:24pm #644596
OnionsParticipantHardaway Jr.
He’s having a nice season, but he has the tools to lead Michigan relatively deep (16-8) and carry them.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 3:44pm #644610
M-EazyParticipantIf Syracuse makes a run to the Final Four, then I expect both CJ Fair and Dion Waiters to play a HUGE role and watch their draft stock rise tremendously.
Also, watch out for McAdoo coming off the bench at UNC…time for him to prove that preseason hype was warranted.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 3:52pm #644615
Future_Scoutthe person that is going to carry michigan is going to be trey burke. who i was going to mention here, i think he’s special
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 4:04pm #644627
omphalosParticipantI’ll say Will Barton too, if he has a strong showing in the tournament he could easily jump into the 1st round, and possibly the lottery.
I really want UConn and Kentucky to play each other, if Drummond thoroughly outplays Davis he might just be able to retake the top spot.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 4:05pm #644629
OneAndDoneParticipantMiller has been overshaddowed by all of his talented teammates at Kentucky all year, but at times has been the best player on the court, putting the team on his back for a few key wins. Theres no way he vaults himself into the lottery but i think he could use the tournament to show people UK isnt just about all the young guys. He is very versatile and could move up to a late first/early second rounder if he plays well.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 4:06pm #644631
JoeWolf1Doug McDermott – I think Creighton is good enough to goto a sweet 16 depending on their bracket, and McDermott is a star player, with skills that trasnlate to the next level.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 4:19pm #644643
aamir543ParticipantI’m gonna go on a limb and say Draymond Green goes off, and leads Michigan St. to the Final Four.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 4:20pm #644645
JoeWolf1Green is going in the 1st round, easily, Izzo always gets his guys going in March. Good call, aamir
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 4:50pm #644670
NotHamedHaddadiParticipantIf Murray State can be anything like Butler or VCU these past years, then Isiah Canaan is going to get some strong looks in the second round.
Also, I look forward to seeing Moe Harkless in the Big East tournament, I feel he has the skills to go off and get a late lottery pick0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 6:32pm #644708
FastAndFuriousParticipantI’m not saying he is a prospect just yet, but watch out for Trey Burke as well in the tourney, he could make an even bigger name for himself with good tournament play.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 6:37pm #644711
Future_Scouttrey burke is a prospect…best player in michigan. name me a freshman or sophmore averaging 14.6-4.6-3.5… first rounder in the near future
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 6:42pm #644712
HaleParticipantTony Wroten.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 6:43pm #644713
Future_Scouti know 🙂
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 6:52pm #644715
Future_Scoutyou know what’s the most impressive thing about wrotten… his 7.6 FT attempt as a rookie, #6 in the nation…
he should teach some of that to terrence ross
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 6:54pm #644716
Malik-UniversalParticipantas much as i dont want to say this…. and dont like him but william buford, i have a feeling, this guy will go off for some big games…. hes experienced and coming off that MSU game, im sure he’s very confident
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 7:02pm #644719
FastAndFuriousParticipantI mean those are impressive numbers but small guards like Trey Burke who don’t have explosive leaping ability or don’t have an explosive first step have a hard time making it, Trey is 5’11, 6’0 at the most, and he isn’t super quick nor does he have that leaping ability to mask his height at the next level.
He is a smart player, and is athletic in his own right, but a player he reminds me of not playing wise, but how I think his career is going to go is Kalin Lucas formerly of MSU.
Kalin Lucas as you may know was 5’11, good quickness, great speed in the open floor, average leaping ability, won B10 player of the year as a sophomore and led MSU to the National Championship game, had a pretty good JR year, and probably would have declared had he not got hurt, dissapointing senior year and is in Turkey now.
With the way the PG position is today, I don’t think you can name me an 5’11/6’0 guard in the NBA who is under 24 who doesn’t have some type of elite explosiveness somehwere in his game.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/06/2012 - 7:06pm #644721
Future_Scouthe doesn’t have explosiveness on his vert but he def has a first step, and speed in the open floor. he has chris paul athletic abilities and they’re both 6 ft.
