    Toronto Fans!

What does Toronto do with their future at the point guard position?

If the Toronto Raptors end up with either the first or second pick and has a chance to choose Kyrie Irving do they pick him?

    Or….

Do you choose a different player and have Jarrad Bayless as your future point guard. He has been playing great as of late.

so….people…Kyrie Irving or Jarrad Bayless and why???

My Pick: I choose Kyrie Irving.. first of all hes younger… has plenty of time to turn into an allstar.. with bayless being in the league a couple years but just this year finally getting minutes to actually prove himself, so i’d rather get Kyrie.. Also Kyrie actually knows how to pass the ball!! Kyrie can score and pass. Bayless gets like 2-3 assists a game.. and seems a little out of control at times… doesn’t really show that he can run a team.. dont get me wrong the dude can score.. but i’d just rather not have him as our future point guard..

    your thoughts??

ooo…Demar, if Jose knew you were talking about his position like that he would b!tch slap you all the way to Spain.

On a different note, even though I am not a Raptors fan, I would say that you have to draft Irving if you get the chance, he is the closest thing to a franchise guard that the Raptors are going to come by for a while. Bayless has been playing great lately but he will not be able to take your team anywhere near the playoffs if he is your main guard. There is not another player of Irving’s caliber outside of Williams, but I feel that Irving would be much better for your team overall.

    True Enough, Irving is sick.

But… What would toronto do about their point guard situation??

Teams might not want calderon who earns 9 million a year…

would you keep both young point guards.. seems like it would be a calderon jarett jack situation all over again.

    trade bayless?

They are going to just have to try their best to move Calderon.

i would take irving also because he is a better point guard prospect…but lets not forget the type of player bayless can become…if he continues to improve his playmaking, decison-making, display court awareness, and always have confidence, i feel he can be a great player in this league.

I would be ecstatic with Irving and happy with Kanter. I’m not too high on Jonas and no one else seems to fit with the current plan.

As a Raptors fan I will not be upset if Irving does not end up being a Raptor. If the Raptors select Derrick Williams or Enes Kanter it is adressing other team needs, while keeping Bayless for the PG position. If you select Irving you somewhat nuetralize Bayless’s effectiveness. So drafting Irving means getting rid of Bayless in a sense, and drafting Williams and Kanter means you get that prospect and youy keep Bayless’s production.

But at the end of the day it seems Irving is the better pure PG, and Toronto cant be making that "push" to become a playoff team yet. The next two drafts are loaded with talent, and next years free agent crop is lloaded too. I would much rather the Raptors draft Irving and find a way to move the contracts of Bargnani, and Calderon, while also getting the best value they can out of Barbosa. The goal is too obtain draft picks and create playing time for these young guys. Irving can start at PG, Bayless can backup Irving and Derozan.

Bayless is not a PG, we need to draft Irving and trade Leandro Barbosa right now, and have Bayless fill his role.  Calderon is a great back up.

     Raps Fans;
Would yall be willing to trade Bargnani to the Rockets for the 14th Pick and another player i.e. Terrence Williams/Chase Budinger and a big man like Jordan Hill?

Or maybe just the 14th Pick and Jordan Hill..

RickyRubio9: that trade seems a little pointless for the Raptors, this is a weak draft so the 14th pick is not all that valuable, and the Raptors already have Davis that they can groom for the PF position so it would be redundant to bring in Jordan Hill. Budinger would help the trade a little, but I still do not think the trade would be good for the Raptors. They need to try to get more than just a few spare parts out of trading a very talented player.

I thought so too, it’s a weak draft class which is why I mentioned a Small Forward something the Raptors erally lack.

I think id perfer draft  Derrick Williams. Bayless has been showing that as a starter he can play. Why not give him a full season to show what he can do.

I think Bargnani is going to be dealt finally this offseason. They actaully mentioned on TSN "possibly" using Bargnani and the other vets that were sitting out the last 6 or 7 games as trade pieces moving forward. The media is not supposed to talk about tradng Bargnani the "prized possession" of Colengelo’s heart unless the are feeling out the publics reaction.

I think hes gone. Does anyone have any trade ideas?

Maybe a 2012 draft pick as well with the houston rockets trade. We need future assets and this years draft is weak. A pick from next year would be more valuable.

Also, Irving would be my first pick if hes still available when toronto picks. If not look for Derick williams or Kanter.

Other than a sign and trade for Jeff Green with Boston, or a deal with Denver involving either Felton, Chandler, or Nene, I cant think of much. Maybe some sort of deal for Gasol, Jordan, Dalembert. He would fit in nice with Milwaukee but other than their 1st round draft pick and Sanders (who Toronto does not need), they dont have many pieces. would also fit in nice with orlando but once again nothing appealing to the Raps.

Maybe it would be best for Toronto to hold onto Bargnani for one more year, because he does help Toronto lose games, and with this approaching draft losing games is definitely a good thing. If the Raps draft right and trade Bargnani appropriatly they are a playoff team/or fringe team. Id much rather them be in the exact same position next year with an oppurtunity to draft Wroten, Barnes, Rivers, Anthony, Jones, etc.

I think its pretty evident Bayless thrives and is way more invloved when starting, so I do not see him filling Barbosas role. If the chance comes up to take Kyrie I do it in a heart beat and look to move Bayless.  I won’t be heartbroken though if we kept Bayless.

If we land Kyrie I would use Bayless late season momentium and package him with Bargs or Amir for something. We have too many PF’s. I would love a Boston Jeff Green deal or sign and trade for Deandre Jordan.

Calderon will be tough to move but I think would be a good all be it expensive back up.

Anyone else think Joey Dorsey is an exact duplicate of Reggie Evans. I love Reggie and everything he brings but Dorsey is younger, cheaper and more durable and maybe a bit more nasty. Maybe Reggie is a piece we can use or just save the $$ and not resign him.

I think the offseason should be exciting though. The Raps could go in some many different directions. They have young pieces, a high pick, cap space…once the draft goes down I think there will be some big shake ups.

Honestly I think Tony Wroten is going to be the next great gaurd. I wish we had waited a year to completly suck! Hopefully next year they tank it.

    OhCanada- :

Yeah I saw the same thing on TSN about bargnani.. and to be honest i really do think he is going to be traded this summer. He is our leading scorer and very talented, but he is not a franchise player, and we cannot build around him. I think with trading him, Demar derozan would develop into the team’s "Go to Man" on offense. I can very well see him avg around 20ppg next season.

I dont see many trades out there for Bargnani though..

Maybe Minnessota? With Bargnani along side Kevin love.. i think that would work.. i mean bargnani wouldnt have to rebound right?.. They would trade their number 2 pick this year and martell webster… for Bargnani..I mean the top 2 players are a point guard and a SF/PF… and they have those spots locked in with Rubio/Flynn Wesley/Beasley..so they might as well trade it.. not sure if they would do it, but its a thought.

    With 2 picks Rapters roster would look… K.Irving, D.Derozan,J.Johnson,E.Davis,E.Kanter

It is forsure a long shot though! lol
