WälseParticipantis this topic meant to be who they play like or their impact or what? because most of these guys play nothing alike. the game has changed so much over time that nobody plays like those from decades ago. i wanna contribute here, but i got nothing.

damaynman150ParticipantIs it possible that Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant have passed this stage of “comparison” and warranted being acknowledged as legends in their own right???
I realize they are still active players but is some one really going to argue with the idea that both Timmy and Kobe are Top 5 All-Time at their position? I guess throw Shaq in there too.
LeBron is not far behind either.

michaelds911ParticipantKevin Garnett – Magic Johnson? Dwight Howard – Hakeem Olajuwon? lol. I agree with damayn with Timmy, Kobe, and LeBron being their own legends.

daUnum26RIPParticipantLebron=Magic, MJ & Karl Malone’s (chiseled build & power)
DWade=Oscar, MJ & A.I.
Kobe=MJ
Durant=Garnett, MJ & Bird (4 his Gr8 strike) Ooops! Portland did it again
Blake Griffin=Barkley’s handles & explosiveness scoring/rebounding, Malone’s 16′ jumper(if he can consistantly hit) & size
Howard=Russell & Olajuwan(not as offensively skilled yet)
CP3=Stockton & Magic0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/03/2009 - 12:19pm #148180
michaelds911ParticipantThe only reason Bill beat Wilt all the time was because he had like 4 other hall of famers on his team. Wilt didn’t have squat. Wilt is the best big man ever.

NYKnicksuperFanParticipantbut i think we can agree that KG isnt as good as any of them
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/03/2009 - 1:31pm #148174
NYKnicksuperFanParticipantthings they have in common-they both play for the celtics and that’s about it
russell garnett
championships 11 1
MVP’S 5 1
ALL-STAR games 12 12
seasons with 1,000 12 3
reboundsalso Russell was iconic as a black figure in the most racist cities in america, career wise Russell has TWICE as many rebounds as garnett
in battles against life long oponents Russell almost always beat Wilt Chaimberlain while Garnett was on the losing side of almost every battle with Tim Duncan who is not as good as Wilt
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/03/2009 - 2:09pm #148204
michaelds911ParticipantI agree with you. I just always have to back my boy Wilt up when people say Russell is better lol.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/03/2009 - 2:23pm #148208
L.ShapParticipantSee the reason why Tim Duncan is uncomparable is because he’s the greatest of his kind. None of the others are even close to him, sorry Kobe.

nthegoodlifeParticipantALL of these guys are their own LEGENDs and can’t really be compared to ANYONE!!!
Kobe
LeBron
Wade
CP3
TDLeBron – no one COMPARES to him
Kobe – plays similar to Jordan, just does it in a MORE ATHLETIC league
Wade – Who compares to him?
CP3 -Who compares?
TD – Best power forward EVER0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/05/2009 - 11:07am #148412
Al-Farouq AminuParticipantMore,
Ben Wallace=Dennis Rodman
Camelo Anthony=Elgin Baylor
Allen Iverson=Tiny Archibald0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/08/2009 - 11:56am #148808
espn365ParticipantLebron really is incomparable because no one has ever had the combination of physical gifts and skills he has. The Magic/MJ/Oscar combinations work with his skillset, but none of them was so dominant physically. I think you have to throw Chamberlain in there because of how physically dominant he was to those in the league. Lebron probably has the biggest vertical in the NBA (apologies Josh Simith) and may be fastest end to end (apologies CP3, Tony, Barbosa). Did I mention he’s the size of Karl Malone. I think we all need to sit back and just appreciate what we get to witness on a regular basis.

knicksfreakParticipantDeron and Stockton? no way
its hard to place Wade because scoring has evolved so much but I’d say the Pearl is the closest
Lebron has O’s broad skillset and triple-double ability but physically reminds me most of Dominique
Dwight is like Ewing. Ewing was known for D and athleticism but had to develop offensively because he had no help
Rondo = Walt “Clyde” Frazier without a shot
Joe Johnson = Magic
Blake Griffin = the mailman
Antawn Jamison = Grandma
Millsap = Charles Oakley

michaelds911ParticipantYou did not just compare Joe johnson to Magic. What parts of their games are alike?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/10/2009 - 6:42am #149086
espn365ParticipantAhem, Joe JOHNSON – – – – – – Earvin “Magic” JOHNSON
Clearly the same type of player.0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/10/2009 - 7:50am #149093
michaelds911ParticipantLol I didn’t realize that striking resemblance ESPN, you should be an NBA scout. I really wonder if these guys watch bball.

joecheck88ParticipantKobe- He is not close to MJ, but nobody else is close to him. When he retires we can start comparing people to him and leave jordan alone.
Lebron- As of now Magic Johnson, in a few years nobody.
DWade- Is DWade.
CP3- Isiah Thomas now, nobody in like 3 years meaning he will be better.
Dwight Howard- right now he reminds me of a young Alonzo Mourning. If he develops more he will be better.
Tim Duncan- people will be compared to him. he is the best at pf.
Carmelo Anthony- Dominique wilkins, will not be appreciated the way he should because of lebron, kobe, cp3, howard, the same way wilkins wasn’t with mj, larry, and magic.i enjoy criticism, so tell me what you think about my list.

gwh21Participantdwight howard-moses malone
lebron-im split between magic and oscar robertson
kobe- plays LIKE mj…but nobody will ever BE mj
wade-(i got nothin)
TD- nobody
KG-nobody
amare- shawn kemp
dirk- larry bird
melo- i just wanna say clyde drexler cause they are both so smooth
KD- nobody will be like him, he has a chance to become his own incomparable legend0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/13/2009 - 8:53am #149946
knicksfreakParticipantWheres your list mb? Have you even ever seen any of those players? Let me elaborate for the skeptics;
Wade and Monroe are both unstoppable offensive combo guards with underrated D.
Rondo and Frazier are both great defensive PGs that are athletic and great distributors. Both are excellent post-season players. Frazier had a much better shot.
Joe Johnson and Magic are both tall players with PG skills, good shooting, and great D. How arent they alike?
Griffin and the Mailman are both very built PF’s with great athleticism.
Jamison and Grandmama can play both play either forward position. Great offensive skills. Both fly under the radar compared to other stars.
Millsap and Oakley are stocky forwards that are excellent rebounders. Pitbulls around the rim.
Try to make an intelligent arguement

Al-Farouq AminuParticipantI am inviting Knicksfreak to my Crib and dunking in his face for comparing Joe Johnson to magic Johnson…
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/13/2009 - 1:12pm #150051
michaelds911Participant1) Magic never shot that good
2) Joe Johnson is NOwhere as good of a passer as Magic
3) If his PG skills were that good, why isn’t he playing the point?
4) Go to Aminu’s house to get dunked on.0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/13/2009 - 1:38pm #150056
a2ParticipantComparisons are to hard now days.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/13/2009 - 9:02pm #150131
espn365ParticipantSaying Magic Johnson had PG skills is like saying Michael Jordan was a good basketball player.
