These are my 5 favorite rookies, who are yours?

PG: Kyrie Irving, easily ROY. Has a complete offensive repitorie. Needs to work on defense like most rookies.

PG: Isaiah Thomas, great personailty, humble, last pick of the draft now starter. Dispite his height, he is a legit PG, fearless, already has earned the respect of the Vets.

SG: Klay Thompson, smooth shooter, high skill set. Needs to develop a killer instinct on offense and some defensive tenacity.

SF: Kawhi Leonard, I only seen him play once, last night against the Lakers. But he has defensive stud written all over him. Great size and strength for his position, he is going to thrive with the Spurs.

PF: Markieff Morris, I love this guys inside/outside game. He needs to work on finishing at the rim and defense. But he can become a mismatch nightmare with his ability to shoot from the 3 and strength to post up.

    Just missing the top 5.

G: Iman Shumpert. Love is defensive abilities, just plays a little to erratic at times on offense.

I haven’t seen many of the rookies play, but seriously, how is Rubio not in any of these lists?

1a), 1b): Kyrie Irving, Ricky Rubio. These two guys, for different reasons, are electrifying and really fun to watch. Irving because he’s dynamite in the clutch and can score in seemingly any way, and Rubio for his insane passing skills (I think in his prime, he’ll seriously be up there with Nash/Stockton/Kidd in terms of pass creativity).

    2) Faried. I love watching this guy play. His energy and hustle is really fun to watch. When he came into the league, I thought he would be a Ronny Turiaf/Nick Collison-style glue guy. Now, I think he has a Paul Millsap level potential.

    3) Derrick Williams. Despite his wildly inconsistent play, and the fact that he settles way too often for jump shots, you can see everytime he’s on the floor that he’s just one step away from being an absolute beast. When he puts it all together (whether with Minny or not), watch out.

Kyrie Irving – hands down ROY. Shut up all the doubters who didn’t think he should be #1 pick with such a small sample size of games. He’s REAL, end of story.

Klay Thompson – Has the makings of someone who can become a 20ppg scorer down the line. Great stroke, can get to the rim better than people give him credit for and is pretty crafty finishing.

Kenneth Faired – The Manimal. Monster rebounder, good shot blocker, great finisher, non-stop motor. What’s not to like about him.

MarShon Brooks – This guy gets buckets…

Iman Shumpert – Great defender, will challenge whoever he’s matched up against. Great athlete with an improving jumpshot. Also love his intensity & work ethic. If he continues to hone PG skills he could be the steal of the draft.

If you look at my list, I didnt rank them, I just name 5 favorite rookies. You dont have to be a douchebag just because your a Carolina fan.

Irving is the best rookie in this class, what is there not to like about his game?

Alec Burks- It’s been fun watching him develop this season.  I think he’ll have a much better sophmore campaign but love how he’s always in attack mode

Kyrie Irving- Whats not to like?

Ricky Rubio- Very fun player with sick passes.  Hope his injury doesn’t affect him too much.

Isaiah Thomas- 68" of pure energy and hustle.  Not to bad of a playmaker, and rediculous hops.

    Manimal- Beast, nuff said.

    1. Josh Selby-He looked so good in his debut, then he got hurt and slumped. I’m still a big fan of him and hope he ends having a nice career.

    2. Kemba Walker-His play last season won me over, he was just so good. That shot against Pitt is something I try to replicate all the time.

    3. Justin Harper-Just really liked him as a mismatch guy.

    4. Travis Leslie-Awesome athletes win me over.

    5. Malcolm Lee-Not really sure why but I like him.

Sorry UNCBasketbalbum I’m going to have to side with Johnny Chill on this one.

You’re calling him out for being a bully, but you just made an incredibly unnecessary and douchebaggy post which just makes you look bad.

I enjoy your posts but sometimes you show your UNC homerism too much by taking a slight dig at Duke at any chance you can get.

Kyrie Irving- Kids a stud. He can really do it all, pass, defend, score, shoot, he’s the complete package and will be an all star for years to come

Klay Thompson- Being a Warriors fan, I’m kind of bias, but the way he has stepped up the scoring load with Curry, Bogut, and now Lee out is remarkable for a rookie. If Monta was traded before the season began him and Kyrie would battle it out for ROY til the end

Kenneth Faried- The Manimal is a rebounding machine. I have no clue why George Karl won’t give him more minutes because if he got 32+ he would have a chance to lead the league in rebounding

Iman Shumpert- A defensive stud. He will eventually make an All-defensive team and it might be very soon. If he can improve his PG skills the Knicks just might have found their PG of the future

Isaiah Thomas- Full of energy and knows how to get the ball in the basket. If he can improve his playmaking skills I think he might be the Kings point guard longer than people expect

Haha there’s no problem being biased man as long as you admit it.

I’m biased too so I can see where you’re coming from…I just make sure I don’t make biased comments that make me look like a douche…okay maybe I do a little lol.

I just learned over time that you have to get rid of personal biases when trying to carry on a good discussion. Because 1) More rational thought gets added to the conversation and 2) No one gets their toes stepped on
