anthony_DavIS23ParticipantMitchell’s game is very different to George’s game. Mitchell is more of a 4 than a 3 and George is a 2 or a 3. Aside from their athletic abilities they’re very different players.

jjbutler73ParticipantSeriously, some people should be banned if they are keeping score here. It’s hard to find the good content sometimes when there is so much stupidity. We can all disagree sometimes, but this guy and memphis madness just constantly post stupid crap.

ProudGrandpaParticipantIn his defense…the site used to have Mitchell compared to George. Not that I agree with it in any way whatsoever.

andyV17ParticipantWhile I agree it is an awful comparison, he might have gotten the comparison from this http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/5/26/4364818/tony-mitchell-paul-george-nba-draft-2013-pacers

aramboneParticipantthis is the brand new tony mitchell workout/interview video: http://youtu.be/GYBw0Mhptt4
The Paul George comparison isn’t great, but its not awful. World class 6’9” athletes from small schools overlooked and doubted but with star potential.
People say Mitchell can’t shoot, but he shot 43 percent from 3 as a freshman, and 34 percent over two seasons, and most of his 3s as a sophomore were contested.
Usually when a power forward prospect shoots 43 percent in a season or 34 percent in a college career from 3 people agree that he can shoot pretty good.
I bet Mitchell can shoot better than Josh Smith already, but he’ll take coaching better and his shot selection will be much better.
Everybody would love JSmith if he was more humble, shot less, and just focused on defense more. And they’d pay him more to do that, like 14-16 million per.
Well, that’s roughly what you can expect from Mitchell over the years, except he only costs 2-3 million per over the next 4 years.
Mitchell projects better playing 5 on 5 than 1 on 5, and is a role player by personality. And he has something to prove. And he can shoot too.

aramboneParticipantAnother thing about Mitchell: He may not have exactly all of Smith’s talent, but he is already stronger while still being able to guard on the perimeter. Imagine how much better smith would be at a chiseled 245 instead of 225. That’s the weight Mitchell will be playing at within a year or two. Beastly.

Chilbert arenasParticipantThe thing that separates Gerald Wallace and K-Mart from other athletic forwards that can’t shoot is motor. Those guys during their primes were going hard 100% of the time, I don’t know if Tony Mitchell has the intangibles of those two. But on paper he reminds me so much of a young Kenyon in terms of size, and athleticism.
In regards to the comparison of Paul George… Get out of here, not even the same position. Mitchell is a 4 and anyone who thinks he can play the 3 is out of their mind.

aramboneParticipantMitchell can shoot, better than Kenyan or even blake griffin. He was stuck playing 1 on 5 last year. Wait until he is the 4th or 5th option on the court and gets wide open mid range jumpers all day.

ShyhillParticipantI think he could be a more defensive oriented Michael Beasley..Paul George is way past his ceiling.
