is the ACC coach of the year and nobody elese should receive one vote.  I think UVA was preseason 4th or 5th behind Duke, UNC and Syracuse in the ACC.  15-1 in the ACC and their only loss was at Duke where Duke needed a lucky bounce from a Sulaimon corner three to pull out the victory after blowing a ten point lead late.  UVA gets very few if any four and five star recruits, but Tony Bennett coaches toughness and defense and it does it extremely well. The UVA-Syracuse game tonight should be one of if not the biggest game in UVA basketball history.  Cavs can clinch the ACC outright with a victory tonight.  Charlottesville will be rocking.

I haven’t followed him much since he left the pac 10, but when he was coaching at Washington st, he had that team ranked top 25 in back to back seasons and even in the top 10 briefly and advanced in the tournament 2 years in a row including a sweet 16 performance. And that was with teams led by kyle weaver and derrick low, good but not elite players. Bennett clearly knows how to get the most out of limited talented. I assume he still does that slow it down grind it out style and keeps games in the 50’s?
